The scarlet and blue ioun stone confers a +2 enhancement bonus to Intelligence, and grants one skill (per a headband of vast intelligence +2).
Obviously, if wearing multiple scarlet and blue ioun stones, the intelligence bonus will not stack (being like bonuses), but could one access multiple skills this way? That is, if I wear a S&B ioun stone with Knowledge: Planes and a S&B ioun stone with Handle Animal, am I granted two skills?
One sees the potential for having a constellation of scarlet & blue ioun stones, and all skills.
Or would the associated skills be considered "bonuses", and hence not stack in some fashion (note, though, that the word "bonus" is not used in the item, nor is the associated skill "typed" in some manner). Looking for a RAW interpretation here.
Thoughts?

First:
Bonuses from the same source dont stack. Thats the way i would rule it. The effect of the ion stone/headband of INT is based on a spell and RAW is clear regarding multiple spells.
Second:
Under normal conditions you cannot equip more then one headband of INT.
Third:
Are you sure that the ion stone works like a headband of INT? I cant find this fact in the ion stone description.
I hope that helps.

Hi. Old post but I had exactly the same question just today
@Eridan : by RAW, scarlet & blue ioun stone works as a headband of vast intelligence, see ref on PRD.
@David : IMHO, INT wont stack (as you wrote) but I see no reason why you wouldn't get multiple skills. And for 8k / skill I see no real munchkinery.
Anyone else got another reading ?

I could see this working, but I could also see the PDT saying you only get additional skills based on additional increases in intelligence.
If you are the GM I would say go for it since I don't think it is OP. If you are the player don't be surprised if this get swatted down by an FAQ.
edit: Your additional skills are based on your int modifier so the total score has to change. This idea is not rules legal.
Step 4—Pick Skills and Select Feats: Determine the number of skill ranks possessed by your character, based on his class and Intelligence modifier...
You apply your character's Intelligence modifier to:The number of bonus languages your character knows at the start of the game. These are in addition to any starting racial languages and Common. If you have a penalty, you can still read and speak your racial languages unless your Intelligence is lower than 3.
The number of skill points gained each level, though your character always gets at least 1 skill point per level.
