At 3rd level, a drunken master can drink a tankard of ale or strong alcohol and gain one temporary ki point. The act of drinking is a standard action that does not provoke attacks of opportunity. The monk can have a maximum number of drunken ki points equal to 1 plus one additional point for every two levels thereafter (5th, 7th, and so on). The monk can gain this temporary ki even before he gains a ki pool at 4th level. These drunken ki points last for 1 hour or until spent, whichever is shorter. As long as he has at least 1 drunken ki point, the monk can spend 1 ki point as a swift action to move 5 feet without provoking attacks of opportunity.
As far as I can tell, drunken ki points are identical to standard ki points except that
(A) they are temporary
(B) they have a separate limit
(C) some Drunken Master abilities require Drunken Ki specifically, not just any Ki.
So does that mean that Drunken Ki can be used for anything that normal Ki can be used for?
In particular, once the Drunken Master gets Wholeness of Body at level 7, does this become a "convert alcohol to HP" ability?
And if the limit on number of Drunken Ki points is "at one time" instead of "per day", does this mean a 7th level Drunken Master gets self-healing limited only by his supply of booze?
Also...
At 5th level, a drunken master can spend 1 point of ki as a swift action to inflict 1d6 extra points of damage on a single successful melee attack. The monk can choose to apply the damage after the attack roll is made. At 10th level, the monk may spend 2 drunken ki points to increase the extra damage to 2d6.
Is this intended to suddenly switch between requiring any old ki and requiring drunken ki specifically?

But if you have 1 point of drunken ki and 3 points of non-drunken ki, could you use 2 non-drunken ki point to fuel drunken strength, or would you be required to use your 1 point of drunken ki (and only deal +d6 damage)?
In general, a character can consume a number of alcoholic beverages equal to 1 plus double his Constitution modifier before being sickened for 1 hour equal to the number of drinks above this maximum. Particularly exotic or strong forms of alcohol might be treated as normal drugs. Those who regularly abuse alcohol might eventually develop a moderate addiction.
So you're limited by your Con mod or your ability to remove the "sickened" condition. Which is easy if you have a Paladin with the right mercy, a Merciful Healer, or a Restoration subdomain character, but difficult otherwise. Remove Sickness only suppresses the condition, so it doesn't look like there's any equivalent to Lesser Restoration's easy fatigue removal for the "sickened" condition.
