A pistol Cleric?

I've been debating picking up the Ama. Gunslinger feat for my clerics just to pack a nice mid range suprise on foes that like to close on him when he's doing support and buff. I know pistols are great in the first range incriment, but taking Precise Shot might help to avoid -4 in melee. The idea is to have a more ranged cleric build with a decent chance to do some damage when not moving, buffing, or reloading.

Any advice to make this viable?

Or even more fun. A Oracle? What Oracle builds would synergize with guns?

Definitely not clouded vision, that's for sure. The thing is, Grit, your gunslinging currency, is wisdom-based and Oracles are Charisma based. So if you're gonna go Oracle, you should take the Gunslinger (mysterious stranger) arch so you have stat synergy and then you build around Cha, Dex, Con. Otherwise, if just sticking with Cleric, any other Gunslinger arch or the Ama. Gunslinger feat will suffice.

For Oracle/Stranger, I'd say either the Lame or Tongues curses from APG or Legalistic from Blood of Demons sounds workable. Time mystery would be thematic for a mysterious stranger, I think.

Nice stuff. Ya. I saw the Grit/Wis synergy for the Cleric builds. Mysterious Stranger does fix some of the Oracle build issues. Thanks.

If you are not stuck on being a cleric, there is a paladin archetype called "Holy Gun", where they get Amateur Gunslinger and Gunsmithing as bonus feats at first level, and limited access to deeds and grit later on, plus still being a paladin and all that provides.

That might be fun.
A battle oracle will gain weapon focus and a pretty good init.
The Metal oracle will give you keen bullets at level 6
the time mystery is fun with all those teleport/slow/haste/reroll

Human I guess (for the feats).

BTW why don't you multiclass ?

Holy Gun is okay, but I like the Oracle/Cleric spell selection more. Thinking of playing a gun & run combat medic. And multiclassing is fine to a point. I just don't want to dip TOO far into Gunslinger and undercut my healing/buffing potential.

But the printed holy gun isn't worth it. I did a holy gun rewrite on these forums, check my profile if you want to use it.

Magical Knack can help make your spells stronger if you take a 2 level dip for multiclassing

Then you need to start lvl2 for the background.
Trucmuch was a musketeer of the crown. During one very hard battle taking place in a cemetery, he accidentally shot a tomb. A spirit came to him and started to haunt him with many visions of the past and the future. Unable to distinct his targets anymore, he became an Oracle against his will in order to keep control of his visions...

Imho, this is a good super hero's like background :)

Well, actually haunted would work because I was thinking of him more like the Pale Rider.

In playing in a game where guns are common . My character is a Oracle with clouded vision and a sawed off double barrel shotgun.

Wait, would haunted interfere with you retrieving ammunition?

I'd actually recommend Mysterious Stranger / Oracle over Gunslinger / Cleric--entirely because you can go one level in Mysterious Stranger and then never take a level in the class again.

Haunted flat-out doesn't work with ranged builds. As Degoon mentioned, it ruins your attempts to get ammunition.

ghost hand is the solution. Cast it and gives it the bullets. the haunted curse will not apply to the retreiving of the amo as they are no more in the gear :)
