Offspring of Summoned Monsters


Rules Questions


If two summoned creatures survive on the material plane long enough to mate and produce offspring (or at least lay eggs) do those offspring remain indefinitely after the parents unsummon? What if they are the product of a union between a summoned and non-summoned creature.


If they are outsiders i think they gain the native subtype but i have no idea if there is raw to support this.


Wow. The odds of that happening are pretty low, but it is technically possible. The offspring, if born on the material plane, would not leave when the parents unsummon. They may be subject to banishment spells, but they would remain on the material plane unless someone intervened with magic... I think...

Don't summon creatures lose the ability to summon creatures of their own type? I wonder if that would apply to organic summoning methods as well? :-)


I need a Summon Ochre Jelly spell. I just found out they don't lose half their maximum hit points when they split. I could split, heal, split and heal indefinitely ...

Pretty sure somebody ran an extortion scheme on an MMO with this tactic.
