Looking for a Suitable Monster

Liberty's Edge

Hey All,

I am currently running Carrion Crown, and as a side quest, my players had set down in a small village where the populace are the happiest people in the land.

Their harvests are bountiful, the town prospers, and all is good in the world. But the townsfolk are paying homage to something evil which is providing them with what they need. But at what price?

The heroes are of 8th level, and I am looking for a creature that could hold the town to ransom, and yet also provide for their needs (i.e. allow crops to flourish all year round.

Anything be great, and it should be equally creepy to fit with the whole horror theme of Carrion Crown.

Cheers in advance.

High level Druid with the Vampire template?

Multiple casts of Plant Growth would give her a creepy copse of wood to live in while enhancing the crops of the villagers (Range of 1/2 mile.

Could also command an army of corrupted dryads.

I would suggest some evil fey such as Red Caps or or a Nuckelavee that is holding a good Fey such as a dryad captive in order to benefit the land as a carrot and stick scheme.

I would also suggest having the crops slightly corrupted such as how H.P. Lovecraft did with the color out of space where the plants were strangely bright and Obscenely plump. you can also play up the corruption of the local animal life and give some otherwise normal creatures the blighted template.

Undead druid (to help crops and farms) or undead bard (hard working and happy or else). Both fit well with carrion crown.

A Master Chymist who brings the town its bounty through his alchemical mixtures, but who requires fresh subjects for his experiments and some people for his Hyde-ish alter ego to munch on.
