Pathfinder'izing Suikoden, is it possible?

I have Suikoden Tierkreis. Got it and my DSi XL on black friday two months ago. Wanting to make sure I got a copy before it became impossible to find was actually what spurred me to *get* a DS finally. I'll probably begin playing it soon, I got completely side tracked by Radiant Historia, which turned out to be one of the best RPGs I've ever played and completely engrossed me these past months. :)

(Glad I got RH when I did, too, just a few weeks later the print run seemed to have sold out on amazon and independent seller prices are climbing back up; apparently before Atlus released the 2nd print run, sellers were asking for up to $1000 for it!)

I do hope for a Suikoden 6 someday, I really like the setting. Even if it's the last one, just something centered in Harmonia and with Leknaat in a more prominent role to explain the remaining mysteries and tie up loose ends would be phenominal. I still like my concept of S2 from Jowy's perspective w/ Leknaat playing both sides to further some greater agenda involving having the rune of beginning wage war, and coming off far greyer and less good than she has up to now to lead into the "final game," too.

So very gladto jhear radiant historia was awesome. Can't wait to get it.

I am looking at using Ioun Stone based "Materia" for my homebrew to allow Spontanious Spellcasters a bit more options and allow Non-Spellcasters to cast some spells.

Maybe add Spirit and make it to where if they invest in it they can use the "Materia" and if they don't they can't use it.

Even though the game was solely released in Japan, atleast it shows that there are people interested in the game. I honestly wondered if Suikoden 5 was going to be the end of the series, I am just glad that's not the case.

RPG Superstar 2015 Top 8

It sold well in Japan--at least was the top sales for the week it released or something.

And yeah, I'd like to see an actual Suikoden 6 too, that ties up the loose ends, especially with all the Harmonia stuff.

My question about Riou was serious, BTW. Fighter? Monk? Monk with martial artist archetype? I wrote up some classes at the time but that was before UC.

Monk(Martial Artist) or Monk(Qinggong).

Grand Lodge

There's far too many loose ends to end the series at 6 without making it just too cluttered. One of the most underrated rpg series out there to hit the US? Absolutely. I always try and play through 1 and 2 at least once a year.

Riou, like all the main characters, is above average at everything. He can fight well, he's fast, lucky, can blast, can heal, decent hp and defense... So it's tough to match him to a single class in PF.

I'd suggest making him a gestalt Unarmed Fighter // Oracle or Sorceror. I have no idea what his curse would be if oracle, but I figure a cha-based caster that can heal suits him best. He should also have pretty good stats across the board, though nothing at max.

EDIT: I guess as a "silent protagonist," it'd actually pretty easy to break the 4th wall and just outright give him a deaf or mute curse, lol.

Mute fits best...

& Gestalt seems like a good system for this Campaign Setting(CS).

Maybe make it: [Martial]/[Caster] So you can't have a Dual Caster. Magus, Bard, & Inquisitor would fill the Caster Slot. Paladin & Ranger fill the Martial Slot.

There aren't many who fit as a Paladin.

Depends on how one runs the Paladin's Code.

Paladin vs Knight?

Isabel and Mathias in S5 see themselves as Evil, a necessary evil, but evil nonetheless.

Turn wands into stones that have /day uses, can be attached to weapons/ armor, and use the UMD skill.

1st lvl spell = 5/day
2nd lvl spell = 4/day
3rd lvl spell = 3/day
Then allow up to 5th lvl spell = 1/day

Lower the DC by 5 and give all your characters 1/2 lvl bonus on these checks. Regular wands, scrolls, and staves use the regular rules and don't get the 1/2 lvl bonus to them.

*Edit: btw, I am now stealing this!*

Anti-Paladin or Fighter?

Some of them are Paladin-esque. Though Archetypes might need to be used Heavily.

@Byrdology: I was thinking on that. I ended up making them similar to 1 Spell Staves.

Dotting.

Sovereign Court

Funny enough the closest thing to Suikoden like adventures that I have done in Pathfinder is Way of the Wicked. Granted it is an evil campaign, you get everything, a base of operation, recruiting npcs, taking over a kingdom as you are essentially part of the rebels etc...

Their evil organization house rule is perfect to send your various people into tasks that influence the story on the sidequests level.

I vote using something like implanted ioun stones rules for bonding with a rune which would be required for spellcasters to do magic.
