Just going through the exercise of how much channel energy one can build into a character. So any advice to get more would be useful
Race: Aasimar
Class: Oracle (Purifier)
Mystery: Life
Favour Bonus: +1/2lv to channel revelation
Stats 19 or 20 CHA is the main part
Revlations: Oracle Channel Positive Energy
3+5 = 8 channel positive energy 3d6
5th level Purifier ability: Sacred Scourge
1+5 = 6 channel energy against evil outsiders 2d6
So there's 14 uses of channel energy all be it somewhat limited to heal/harm living/undead and harm outsiders
However what if you took the Weather variant channelling that would let you do half elec or sonic damage on a harm.
Have you now got 8 uses of 3d6 * 1/2 sonic dmg and 6 uses of 2d6 * 1/2 sonic dmg vs all creatures ?
Throw in Channel Force feats and doing damage now lets you pull and push multiple creatures around the battlefield.
Have I perhaps misread the variant channelling ?

You can't take the variant channeling ability to harm. You channel positive energy, and positive energy variant channeling only affects channeling to heal.
From the PRD, emphasis mine:
A variant channeling either modifies positive channeled energy when used to heal or modifies negative energy when used to harm. When using positive energy to heal, affected creatures gain only half the normal amount of healing but also receive a specific beneficial effect. When channeling negative energy to harm, affected creatures take only half the normal damage but take an additional penalty or harmful effect; a successful saving throw negates the additional penalty or effect but does not reduce the damage any further.
