daggermark poisoner (crafting?)

So, I want to become a daggermark poisoner PrC, and I need to craft 1000gp worth of poisons for the guild. That is 10k sp value(see where this is going?).

Assuming I have skill 9 and take 10, crafting a DC 19 poison it will take about half a year to fulfill that requirement. Is it me or does it just seem insanely absurd that I have to retire my character from the game for half a year to do full time crafting, in order to get that PrC?

Or have I just misunderstood how crafting poisons work? If so, please explain the rules to me (RAW only and please include sources, as I may have to use them for my DM)

The poison price reflect both the rarity of it, the rarity of the skills needed to make them and the dangers inherent in making them.
They are one of those items where the market price should be separated by the production cost.
If you are playing in a homebrew campaign ask your GM if you can get a boost in the production speed.
If not, unless you are playing a AP with a strict deadline, taking 278 days off adventuring can be done, there is no need to reach 20th level in 1 year of the character life.

If needed you can take a few day off here and there to produce the poison when you are at your home base.

It is certainly a very large amount of time put into crafting poisons, and even assuming your skill increases slightly and you start crafting early, it still may take quite some time. My suggestion (if this is really a requirement your GM is holding you to) is to take the Master Alchemist feat. Not only does it grant a +2 to craft (alchemy), it also allows you to craft a number of doses of poison equal to your int mod at one time for no increase in time (though the cost goes up as normal). If that wasn’t enough, it also allows you to use the items gp value when determining progress instead of its sp value (and this is further improved in the PrC itself).
