[Hero Lab] Version 7.2 of the Pathfinder files for Hero Lab is now available! Paths of Prestige & Artifacts & Legends!

A new update for the Pathfinder files for Hero Lab is available from the automatic updates mechanism within Hero Lab.

This update adds Paths of Prestige to the existing Campaign Setting #8 package. This package already contains Giants Revisited and Magnimar, City of Monuments, and is available for $4.99.

We've also added Campaign Setting: Artifacts & Legends as the first item in a new Campaign Setting #9 package. This package is also available for $4.99, and will receive at least one more book from Paizo's Campaign Setting line, as they are released.

There are a number of smaller announcements for this update - player content from Pathfinder #63, Resonant Powers for Ioun stones, and a large number of bug fixes.

If you're not familiar with Hero Lab, please head over to the Hero Lab page of our website. There, you can download the program in demo mode and try it out. The only things you won't be able to do in demo mode are save and print (although you can see the print preview), so that you can give it a thorough test before you decide to purchase our program.

Another option if you'd like to try Hero Lab is our Hero Lab for the Pathfinder Beginner Box program. This program is free, and does support saving and printing, and allows you to make heroes and monsters from the Pathfinder Beginner Box.

I wasn't sure where the best place to put this was, so I'm putting it here. Does anyone know if there is a way to revert back to an earlier version of HL? After the update the .por files no longer work with Kyle Olson's killer Combat Manager software.

You could roll back to an earlier version of Hero Lab, but you would not be able to roll back to an earlier version of the data files. So that's not currently an option. :(

We sent Kyle (and other tool creators) a Beta version of Hero Lab with the new format three weeks ago so he could make the necessary adjustments to Combat Manager prior to our release. The changes to the new file structure represent only a few hours of work from the standard custom output format we put into place well over a year ago. That's the format everyone has been supposed to be using for for the past year. So we believed three weeks of lead time were plenty for everyone to integrate a few hours of changes.

Hopefully, Kyle's just wrapping up a new version of Combat Manager and all will be resolved shortly.

Thanks for the update lonewolf-rob. I'm sure Kyle will get to it shortly. Your product is the flat out bomb, and in conjunction with Combat Manager it makes a GM's job A LOT easier. Keep up the great work.
