Do mithral medium armors (such as mithral breastplate) still slow down you land speed? Or does it being treated as light armor alleviate that particular penalty? What about running?

yup, you are not impeded by mithral medium armor. However, you are still so by mithral heavy armor.

Most mithral armors are one category lighter than normal for purposes of movement and other limitations.

Where's the confusion?

"Most mithral armors are one category lighter than normal for purposes of movement and other limitations."

No it would not slow down your speed.

So it would be treated as light for movement.

Your quote is not the conclusive part, "most" could imply that there are exceptions.

this is what make it unambiguous.

"Heavy armors are treated as medium, and medium armors are treated as light, but light armors are still treated as light. This decrease does not apply to proficiency in wearing the armor"
