Sorcerer Bloodline Powers

Rules Questions

I did some searching but couldn't find a direct answer.

What type of power are Sorcerer Bloodline powers? (Spell, Spell Like, Supernatural etc.)

What DC am I using for powers that "work as spell x"?

There are a few but currently I am playing an Arial sorcerer that has a Bloodline power that works as 'Control Winds'.

Thanks!

The abilities say what they are in parenthesis.

"Windcaller (Sp): At 9th level, you can call the winds to obey your commands for 1 minute per level. This functions like control winds, except that you may choose to be immune to any increased wind effects you create. The ability’s duration does not need to be consecutive, but it must be used in 1-minute increments."

That "sp" means it's a Spell Like Ability and functions as such. As per the rules for (Sp) abilities:

"For creatures with spell-like abilities, a designated caster level defines how difficult it is to dispel their spell-like effects and to define any level-dependent variables (such as range and duration) the abilities might have. The creature’s caster level never affects which spell-like abilities the creature has; sometimes the given caster level is lower than the level a spellcasting character would need to cast the spell of the same name. If no caster level is specified, the caster level is equal to the creature’s Hit Dice. The saving throw (if any) against a spell-like ability is 10 + the level of the spell the ability resembles or duplicates + the creature’s Charisma modifier."

Note that Thunderbolt, the ability you replaced, actually has specific rules for its DC (10 + 1/2 Sorc levels + Cha), which actually ends up better. You could probably convince a GM to use that formula instead for your Windcaller, but it's not technically RAW.

And for the record, if you see an (Su), that's supernatural, and (Ex) is extraordinary.

Sorcerer class. Every bloodline is marked as Extraordinary, Supernatural or Spell-like.

For saving throw DC of abilities that "work like <spell>" you use 10+Charisma modifier+level of the spell.

EDIT: Blasted sorcerous ninjas!

Bloodline powers should have a notation after each that indicates whether it's supernatural, spell-like, etc. Something in parentheses like (Ex) or (Su). Each power may be different.

Windcaller is a (Sp) so it is a spell-like ability. The save Dc would be 10+5(control winds is a level 5 spell)+Cha mod, so 15+Cha mod.

I am also ninja'ed.

Thank you!
