Natural Claws plus Sorcerer Draconic Bloodline claws

Rules Questions

I'm working on a Tiefling Sorcerer with the claws option from the ARG and the Draconic Bloodline which gives claws as a bloodline power. What is the effect of manifesting claws if the character already possess them?

I've had a few thoughts, the one that seems to make the most sense is that it changes the die type to the next larger (D4 -> D6) during the duration of the manifestation.

Use the highest claw damage and any special rules those claws have.

If you have extra arms, they can grow there, I guess.

You would get the damage of the draconic claws while they are manifested (which should be higher than your normal claws, and includes elemental damage at higher levels).

You could manifest the claws on your feet and kick/slash people to death.

Claws go on hands, not feet, so you can't :)

Was that ever put into errata?

You never increase damage dice unless the ability says so. You can use the damage of your base claws, or those of the bloodline claws--they do not "stack" in any meaningful way.

Daigle confirmed it. The whole thread is about it, so feel free to check it out. It caught me by surprise too, as the natural attacks really aren't fully defined anywhere. Tentacle is easy enough, but the difference between talon and claw isn't, and especially slam. Slam is usually arm-based, but there exceptions...

Actually, the claws from Tiefling APG are D4 which is the same as the ones from the Bloodline. The only concern I have with that is if I take Improved Natural Attack (increases claws to D6) and I manifest the Bloodline claws does my damage go down?

I'm of the opinion that you should end up with four claw attacks.

Improved Natural Attack: Claws would increase the damage of all your claws. It would apply to natural ones and the bloodline claws. After all, it doesn't just raise the damage of a single Claw, right?

Thank you mplindustries, didn't think of it that way. Perfect.
