Looking to make a new kind of Oracle

Advice

I am toying with the idea of an Oracle of Liberty that has been called out of the Reign of Terror-like state in Galt.

I am thinking of going with the Blind Curse. My rationale being that Justice is blind and it goes hand in hand with Liberty.

But as far as Mysteries go, should I shoehorn an existing Mystery into the concept or create a new one. Or does a Liberty Mystery already exist somewhere in the literature.

And should I tie the Oracle to Cayden Caillean?

He's the Diety I find most interesting and frustrating at the same time. But he seems a good fit for it.

I almost think he'd be a better fit for Oracles than for Clerics. I just have a hard time picturing his priesthood.

While the Blind Curse does sound cool, make sure you fully understand how much it will hurt your character in many encounters. I had a party member take it then hate it because he basically couldn't function without the party and he couldn't do anything but buff and heal in a long range fight.

oracles are not god specific. they are ideal specific, you can like some parts of cayden but you don't have to like all of what he stands for. if you are an oracle of liberty then the idea of liberty is what your 'god' is.

Wayfinder #5 has the Oracle of Rulership, I think. That could fit.

Once your darkvision goes to 60 feet, there is a feet that will double it.

Not really. Read the curse carefully.

Clouded Vision: Your eyes are obscured, making it difficult for you to see. You cannot see anything beyond 30 feet, but you can see as if you had darkvision. At 5th level, this distance increases to 60 feet. At 10th level, you gain blindsense out to a range of 30 feet. At 15th level, you gain blindsight out to a range of 15 feet.

The basis of the curse is that you can't see anything beyond 30 feet. At lvl 5, you can't see anything past 60 feet. Even if you got the feat that increased your darkvision, the curse still prohibits you from seeing anything beyond that 60 feet.

Not to talk you out of Blind, but have you considered Blackened?

"Justice is not in my charred, weak hands, my friends, but in your strong, unchained hands."

"Hold high the brutish staves of the guards! (and hold one high as an example... this could get tricky) Hold high the gallows planks! (and get the GM another beer) Let the fires of LIBERTY be called forth!" (and cast Burning Hands on the high ends of all that wood.)

Just a thought. :)
