Elven archer concept

Advice

Silver Crusade

Had an idea about a elven archer that was horribly burned on patrol by a black.dragon breath. The idea was during a healing ritual they sewed leaves and leathers over the body. I see this being a type of legacy armor where it sustains for food and increases ac value and can only be removed by bathing in the blood of the dragon and breathed on her. How is best way to set this up. Second what make the better archer class.fighter ranger or arcane archer.

Setting up the Archer part is easy. The other is not so easy.

You could be an "Elf", that is not so much Elf anymore.

What books are allowed?

What races are allowed?

check that out. I allowed it in my game treated it as archetype for ranger basically. I think it would fit the fluff of your character more than any other class. you Still get favored enemy but only 1, your evil dragon. you get precision damage in 30ft. goggle of the sniper will help improve that. spell still there. you get to select fighter bonus feats, and you get to enchant arrows as arcane archer only it is limited amount. and you can threat squares 5ft adjacent and eventual 10ft reach also. flaking with bow. but that nice stuff is at later levels.

Check out leaf armor, may fit what you are looking for as far as function. the rest is fluff. there would be no way with out your GM making an lesser artifact to actual get the results you want. It grows stronger for food. and the fact that it only removed via through that situation. make it a artifact power.

This how I would make your artifact

Leaf Armor +2
Powers
Cause Cure Serious Wounds 3 times a day caster level is your level.
Increase AC up to +5 or maybe grant natural armor +3 bonus by eating 3 times normal amount and sleeping in fresh soil.(what ever flavor gm wants to come up with)

Flaws
You must eat 2 times normal amount all the time or the armor feed off you drain 1 or 2 points of con. con stays that way until eat 2 times as much for 2 day strait or something of that nature.

It can not be sunders and can only be removed by being soaked in blood of favored enemy

So I didn't get back to this sooner I was in the hospital when I wrote this up.

Kainpen: I really liked the elven archer you presented and ill use it if allowed. The armor on the other hand I guess I should have elaborated alittle more. I wanted it to have the power of sustance and resist elements, but also gain in AC per level. The sunder resistance was a great add possible fortitude. For the AC to get better any black dragon blood can be used or black dragon scale added to the armor.

Black blood troll: I was trying to use only Pathfinder books. My original concept was an elf and I would like to keep it an elf.

Allergies and Asthma don't mix. Stayed at an relatives house and whatever was in the house got the best of my allergy medicine and my rescue inhaller. Thank you for the concern. I scared the hell out of my wife and kids though. But they have me pumped up on claritin, Flozin, ventolin, and some steriod that is making me have hot flashes like a 45 year old woman, but I finally broke free enough to respond to the post today.

Although I wanted to keep the elf idea I am curious where you were going with your idea.

Yeah get with your dm about making the armor, maybe use the old 3.5 legacy rules maybe he will it convert, but in that system you had to spend feats as well as lose, save, hp . and each 3.5 feat is worth about 1.5 to 2 pathfinder feat. cleave is a good example to prove this. to get cleave as it was in 3.5 you have to have to get Cleaving Finish*. which has requirements of cleave. Legacy item could end up costing you minimum of 6 feats after converting. But that is up to your dm. It would more then like be easy to make a lesser artifact that can just grow with you slightly.

you can tell your dm that 3rd party class was published in Paizo's kobold quarterly issue #20 Winter 2012 issue. If you DM has any question about the class he can send me a message on here. One of my guys is playing it now and he level 8 about to be 9. So I have experience being a DM with it.

Honestly I think it a little bit weaker then ranger but it fits the flavor for your character you want, same for my player. Remember unlike ranger you still have to meet the requirements for the bonus feats listed.

Good to see you're doing better now.

I would also second KainPen's suggestion for the Elven Archer class by kobold quarterly. It's from the this magazine, which is about as close to Paizo as you can get without being Paizo. They even have official Golarion articles and PFS scenarios :)

The class itself was playtested for 4 years before it was finally released, which is just...unheard of in this business. Most things get 2 or 3 playsessions as playtesting.
