Channel Negative Energy Stealthily? I cannot find RAW answer.

I have a situation in my pbp game where an evil cleric is hiding in an Obscuring Mist spell and is attempting to Channel Negative Energy.

Channel Energy requires, "A cleric must be able to present her holy symbol to use this ability."

Does the Obscuring Mist, by blocking vision beyond five feet, prevent the cleric from being able to present her holy symbol?

Can the cleric use the ability silently, or is it assumed some sort of prayer must be spoken aloud?

1) No Obscuring mist does not prevent the cleric from presenting. It does prevent line of sight but that does not affect the ability to channel energy (which is line of effect). Note: you will not be able to use Selective Channeling on allies you cannot see.

2) It is supernatural so no obvious sounds are required. If the cleric is concealed there is no reason the cleric's stealth would be violated.

The enemy does not have to be able to see it. If that was true than an invisible cleric would not be able to hurt enemies or heal allies since they would not be able to see him.

Channeling is an supernatural ability that has no "component" beyond a focus. Technically channeling cannot be perceived other than by the effect that it creates. Variant Channeling effects (UM pages 28-31) however may have sensory effects (such as darkness, sun and weather).
