Half-races

Rules Questions

Do half-races qualify as race for feats/traits/classes? for example, Could a half elf take the Elf only plant focused druid?

If your DM allows it, then yes.

If I were your DM, I would allow it.

Are you speaking of the Elf Blood and Orc Blood racial traits?

If so, you only count as said races for effects.

Feats and Classes are not effects.

okay, So, New Puzzle... A Half-elf counts as both elf and human for the purposes of feats, items, spell effects, etc.

Quote:

Elf Blood: Half-elves count as both elves and humans for any effect related to race.

Said Half-elf going Hmm... I wish to use my human heritage and take the feat

Quote:

The blood of a non-human ancestor flows in your veins.
Prerequisite: Human.
Benefit: Choose another humanoid race. You count as
both human and that race for any effects related to race.
For example, if you choose dwarf, you are considered both
a human and a dwarf for the purpose of taking traits, feats,
how spells and magic items affect you, and so on.

He takes this feat, and he is now half elf half human and treated as a dwarf as well?

Grand Lodge

Half-Elfs and Half-Orcs do not count as Orcs, Elves, or Humans for the purposes of meeting prerequisites for feats, or classes.

Feats and Classes are not effects.

Same language in Racial heritage would suggest they count for the purpose of traits and feats.

Grand Lodge

I hear that a lot.

Note that the Racial Heritage provides more.

Similar language, does equal same thing.

Feats and Classes are not effects.

This came up before, though I would like to get an Official ruling on this issue.
