First off, I am in no way connected to this project.
Medieval Village for 28mm Gamers Kickstarter
Prepainted terrain from laser cut 3mm plywood
They have a bunch of options, but here are the best two IMO. This summary is my own notes rather than a copy paste, so you have been warned if I screwed up.
The small village option for $100 or $115 for non-USA gives you:
3 carts (you'd need to provide beasts if you wanted them)
A pillory (stocks)
A hangman's gallows
A dunking stool
A well
A horse trough
4 3.5" fences
A blacksmith's forge, one story removable roof
An Apothecary shoppe, two stories with removable roof and second floor
A watermill, two stories with removable roof and second floor
A Fisherman's cottage, single room with removable roof
The $400 option or $470 if it's shipping outside the USA
Add to the $100 version:
A Brewery, two stories with removable roof and second floor, 4 rooms, and the roof is in two sections, also comes with another wagon, and 5 barrels
An Inn, two stories with removable roof and second floor, 8 rooms, another horse trough, 4 tables with benches, and 5 barrels
A huge tavern, 28 rooms, 2 staircases, removable roof, and second floor, can be reconfigured into other shapes, 8 tables with benches, another wagon, 5 barrels, and 2 larger barrels
I don't know if I'll be able to afford to support this project, but I suspect someone here will want to :)

The thing with the early adopter bonus is that it means there is no extra rewards for new backers who get involved.
Thus no incentive to back now and push the rewards up. Half the fun of Kickstarter is backing it and watching it grow....(and thus get more stuff). But now new backers get no bonuses and no incentive to hook their friends in.
Otherwise, I probably would be backing this.

Uhm, it is what other KS'es with Early Adopters are doing too... the other KS'es just call it 'early bird pledge' where you pay 5-10-20 USD less for the first 100 backers and the rest doesn't get that discount.
However, the creator has already stated she will be adding stretch and/or bonus goals to the mix for other non-early birds, so everyone who backs will see it grow and get extra stuff.
So, for all those who feel negative about this, it's the same marketing trick as with many other KS'es, just worded differently, and more flexible, based on the end-result of the KS, which is smarter than throwing in a fixed rebate without knowing where you (as creator) will end up!
I'm in :-)

Yep, you're in before the 'lock' it's really really good deal. Many do have 'early adopter bonuses' with $10 off the deal, but as shown this could easily give $20+ of free stuff for the early adopters (pledging only $10 in the example) and unless it becomes financially unviable sugnificantly less for others.
Yes, it is a great deal on terrain...

One question I have is that the scale looks a little wrong. This might be nit-picking but I'd like to see a picture with an actual 28mm mini. The ones they use in the video are definitely not 28mm.
Maybe even a D&D or Pathfinder mini for comparison would be helpful.
I think the scale is fine, though the wall height may be a little tall (but perhaps that's normal for British buildings, and is certainly handy given how many minis have a "hold your weapon high" pose). I dug around on their website and found this image of the modular floor system units; if the large floor squares are 1", that means the walls are at least 1.5" (38mm) high, which is at least 7.5 feet in miniatures scale.
I think these are really nice, and I'm gonna become a backer as of next payday. :)

On that topic, a set of bonus 'destroyed' rooms or scenery was announced if the project reaches 25k. http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1093338811/medieval-village-for-28mm-ga mers/posts/326091?ref=activity

Its moments like this that tell you why Warhammer and Warhammer 40,000 are described as a rich mans game.

Someone has finally made a gazebo mini! If only such a thing had existed years ago. Think of the needless suffering that could have been avoided.
Well now is the time of year that you might be able to get one like the one that I got. I got one a year or two back at the dollar store, it was a Christmas decoration.
