Ah! Found a different quick reference that confirms a good sized game is about 1000 pts and takes about 90 minutes

Quick Play Guide

If I remember correctly, it's 1000 pts for a standard army battle

Here is a really useful army creator that will tell you point values of the models and there is also a link there that you can search out the stat cards of each model.

Linkified

Growing significantly more selective. I used to have about 3-5 running at a time, easily. Now, I'm sitting on a single pledge and, while I still have the urge to back some things, I've gained the superpower to look critically at the value, timing, and what I actually want (as opposed to all the other gubbins included that I don't really want) and decide to just drop/ignore things that I might have, in the past, gone nuts for.

Definitely stoked by the traps in particular, although many of the models are quite lovely.

@Majuba: Actually, you can't swap things at the $200 level. You have to get 1 of everything. No trades.

Well, I wouldn't call them more prompt than Reaper, per se. The Torn World project only funded 6 miniatures. If he couldn't get those fulfilled quickly that would be pretty terrible. And Demons and Devils was due in March, so he is exactly on par with Reaper's schedule, as it stands now.

The only person I've heard talking about casting quality is someone from Reaper's forums saying the only mini he bought from them was, all in all, awful. Unfinished sculpt with bad miscast parts and extremely poor detail. However, that was a very old piece and might not be reflective of what will be coming down the pipeline now. Especially considering we know he's working with Valiant for casts and the sculptors in his stable are, for the most part, known quantities of decent quality.

For me, there is some real interesting product here. The elven dog is a big plus for me, and I love the jaculi and dracolisk. Those all would be incredibly fun to paint! If things go well, and we get a chance to hear from the Torn World backers how nice the castings for that project are before the end of this one, I could very well drop $50 to get some interesting miniatures.

I think of the 38 projects I've backed, only 2 has delivered within 1 month of the estimated date. Everything else has had 3-6 months of delays. Many are on track, though, and I'm hoping the projects that had massive buffers (like Kingdom Death, and the Gnomish Adventurers) will be on time, or close to it. Still, I expect them to run into some unforeseen issue (like nearly everyone does) and have to push back delivery at least a little

pres man is right. There is one boat with tons of add-ons at customs right now, waiting to be released, and another boat currently on the water coming here. So there is still a good long while before everything can be fulfilled, especially if the second boat gets held up as long as the first.

But that depends on the amount of working space they have. Too many cooks in one kitchen, and all that such nonsense.

Fortunately it was never a promise, but an estimate! And an estimate that was only reflective of around 60 minis when it was made, at that.

Here is where the unboxing video links start in that thread.

Linky to the project. Go! Pledge!

Well, from the perspective of people who would buy your minis as collectors (which, let's face it, a ton of miniature purchasers are mostly painters and collectors) giving an extra 5-8 minis to people for backing earlier might not sit well. Most people valuate their purchases on a price/mini basis (that I've seen, anyway. It's common to see the math posted in KS comments). If you start lowering that metric by a wide margin, you'll face complaints.

There is also the added complication of (if using 3 days as the marker) getting an influx you aren't expecting and then passing out hundreds of freebies to people eating into production costs. Playing it safe is good for everyone.

Personally, two things play into how to determine your early backer freebies.

1. Value for yourself/Cost per unit. If you set a hard number of backers, you're more likely to know precisely what you're giving away for free. If you use a time-based deadline, it's completely up in the air. You could easily lose money if you're not careful. What happens in 600, 700, 800 people join in the first 3 days? Unlikely, but predictability is always a good thing when managing finances.

2. Value for the backer: It has to be enough to actually draw a person in earlier than they would normally pledge. However, too much alienates future backers. A whole unit could be perceived as a significant advantage, despite it being a cheap item. Perception is everything in sales/marketing.

To counter that perception, if you can offer additional units as add-ons and show the true value of this freebie as being quite reasonable, it will be forgiven.

Try not to give away more than 5-10% more than what other backers will get, unless it's a direct cash discount. Most people seem FAR more okay with early bird specials with $5-10 off than they are with other backers getting more product. This is just from my personal experience backing ~30 Kickstarters.

I hope some of this makes sense. None of this is hard-set or even scientific. I'm just offering my own experiences and hoping the conclusions I've drawn are helpful to you.

Actually, Ed Fortae did something similar to that. Basically, it was the first 200 backers received 5 extra bases or 1 extra little model on his project. Through the Breach did something similar, but they made their early backer incentives TOO good, and thus lost out from people not feeling like they were getting a fair shake just for backing a day or two late, so I'd be careful about how juicy the early backer reward is!

From my understanding, the project creator is able to easily track the date a person backs, and even if they adjust their pledge, their original pledge date stays, as long as they don't CANCEL the pledge, only adjust it.

Yeah, I wish it had blown up a bit more. That $100 level could be an incredible value if enough goals get it. At the moment, the $50 level is actually quite nice with the giant added in (if you're into the old school look). Two goblins and 4 stretch goals minis plus the two firbolg or the mountain giant isn't a bad value. If he sweetens the pot one or two more times with something else he sells, I think people will be pledging on value at money will flow much easier, heck, I might even drop some cash if that were to happen

See, if I could get the guys I want without a $50 price tag, I'd be in this so freaking fast! I love the Red concept. It's bloody stellar! I've spoken to Alyssa Faden a few times and she's a great lady and her and Jack have done a great job on the world. Once these hit Matt's store, I'll be picking a few of them up ;)

I'm just reporting what people have said. I didn't back the first project, so it's not my deal, but I know a LOT of people that backed the Demons and Devils and don't want to back this because of the unfinished first project. It's a big deal to some people because they have no idea what quality the casts will be, especially since Matt was so adamant about people switching back from resin to metal.

The biggest thing that is killing this thing is the deal. There isn't one unless this thing takes off like crazy making the $100 and $150 levels a great value. That along with the niche market for these, it's just a huge turn-off for people.

If I could just get Red, Telsa, and the Lich King for ~$25, I'd be in, but since I'd have to buy in for $50 to get them, I'm definitely going to just wait and see. Probably pick them up when he reopens his webstore. Unless he decides to let people get them for less than a $50 pledge, which would be awesome! Like if I could pledge $10 for the first mate and then add money for the others I really like :D

I know, I wasn't saying he's late, I just mean that he is still in the middle of the first one and started a second. A lot of people won't back a second project by the same person if the first one isn't finished yet.

Unfortunately, the fact that these are so niche, coupled with his undelivered first project, is strangling this project. The people who created Torn World are really nice people and will be running their own project, independent of CSM, on March 3rd to fund their skirmish game, Torn Armor. Personally, I'm waiting for that since it sounds much more juicy.

I admit, I'm a collector, too. I started in August. Just after the Reaper Bones KS roped me in. Never bought a mini before that, unless you count board games like Castle Ravenloft.

Now? Now I have nearly 1000 (if you count my kickstarter hauls that haven't arrived yet) with about 90 painted. I have 2 dozen primed minis on my desk. I paint a TON nowadays. I am working on selling my skills, though! I've gotten pretty good and it's incredibly fun :D

Miniature addict? I am indeed a figmentia sufferer lol

Familiars achieved! Up next is the full Lord Regional's Retinue :D

So the only left thing to unlock in Knobstreet is the Assassin in about 3.2k.

Up next after that is the 70k unlock, which happens to be ONE FULL SET, Lord Regional's Retinue. This set contains a knight on armored wolf (detachable models), a scrap bot, a gardener, shrouded figure, knight on foot, aristocrat, and a tinker!

After that is the gnome lady pirate, followed by the viking, bard, ranger, and undead (plus 3 undisclosed familiars)!

Yep. This new troll is freaking awesome looking. My troll from the last project will now have a young friend to stomp on tiny peoples with!

Thanks! I think, from Stonehaven, the mini I had the most fun with was the bard.

Here he is. I did him up like all of the leathers were dyed funky colors. I figured that was more bardly ;)

@Dennis: That's a fun paint job! I went with a light green skin as well.

Here is mine. He was such a fun guy to paint :D

I can say that the guy doing the concepts and doing the sculpting are the same guy, so he knows exactly how to make what he draws. The dwarves went from concept to green with hardly any changes at all (some of which were necessary for casting and clarity). Basically, what you see is what you'll get :D

Joined day 1 and now i'm at $52. I got the dwarves and can attest to their quality. Get these! They will be a bit smaller than the dwarves (which were definitely smaller than Reaper dwarves, bigger than Red Box dwarves) but the style is incredible! Plus, automaton is freaking amazing.

Also, Lisa, technically, you're getting 12 minis for your $39! 5 gnomes in each set, plus the automaton in set 1 and the hawk in set 2 ;)

So, apparently, the Crimson Drake is supposed to be a tiny sized critter pseudodrake. Now, the plan is to make the drake huge, anyway (which would probably bring it close to 1:1 scale lol) and another little tiny drake as well :D

Another update, and now the gearforged huntsman is unlocked, Scout backers get a free kobold knight.

The next is the MASSIVE Crimon Drake, which I'm told will be 6-8inches tall with each wing being about 8 inches, if they were unfurled. He comes with a pretty cool kobold monk that Gearforged level backers get.

Here is the update. Tons of new goodies, as well as more stuff from the EFS store available for cheap, including some sweet seahorse riders.

Also, we're dead close to the gearforged huntsman, which is the 22k stretch goal!

Update time again. The 17k stretch goal was hit, so the deer centaur is unlocked as an option, as well as people pledging for the Bandit King level getting a free kobold bard!

Next goal is 19k, where the Deathcap mushroom person will be unlocked and the Guild Leader level will get a free kobold mage, Jiro! The friendly mascot of Kobold Quarterly!

Here it is, it is actually the painted example from their webstore. Really cool mini!

Demon toad is a serious MUST for a collection! It's so gorgeous! Check out the EFS facebook page for a beautifully painted version

Boom! Another stretch eats dirt! The vulture sphinx AND grisal dwarf minis are unlocked now as options, the kobold alchemist mini is now free for Gearforged level backers and a $4 add-on for others.

Next up: 17k and the deer centaur gets unlocked and the kobold bard is given free to Bandit King level backers!

Another stretch goal was knocked down. The tengu/raven mage mini is unlocked, and Wit the kobold rogue is now a freebie for Scout ($70) and higher backers

Linkfied the Imbrian shop

This stuff is seriously amazing. This is the project I spent the most I've spent thus far. $474 for the Complete Imbrian Package, the resin Sea Dragon w/ resin Dragon Knight, a resin Ifrit and an extra Asura + Gnoll.

Midgard Miniatures is a currently running project for minis to use with the Midgard Campaign setting, by Wolfgang Bauer. This one could really use some love. Also, there is a gorgeous aboleth model here!

@Robert Hawkshaw: The Stonehaven people actually have opened up their own webstore for their dwarves and troll. I got in on that and have painted almost my full set this last month. They are seriously gorgeous and the troll is INCREDIBLE!

Here is my first thread on the Reaper forums of minis I painted from them.

And here's another few that I did of them.

They are an absolute treat to paint!

Here is their webstore, if you're interested.

Also, a bunch of Midgard campaign books (for both 4e and Pathfinder) are available as add-on PDFs :D.

Here's the update

Also, if you like to paint, go Survivor. You'll get an extra 24 minis for the $55 extra. Another MASSIVE phoenix, watcher, 3 complete sets of armor kits (each kit is 4 minis worth of bits), Snow the Savior, Paul and Aya the survivors, and 5 extra King's Men!

ETA: Oh, and I forgot the KS exclusive Adam and Anna minis, and the extra heads as well :D

Don't forget that the painted 12 incher is also limited to 5 only, with a custom plaque on the base with the name of the purchaser ;)

Someone on the Reaper forums actually put a Bones mini into a jar of Simple Green for a couple of weeks once and it didn't do a thing to the plastic, just stripped it like normal. They are perfectly safe!

Don't forget that the next stretch goal is a set of 3 jungle goblins that will be added for free onto any order of $25 or more!

I am crazy excited for both! And Baba Yaga's hut is freaking spectacular.

Here is the update that has the pic of the hut in it. They say it will be between 8-12 inches tall!

Also, if you're at all interested in the Midgard stuff and have a specific mini you'd really like to see made, Mick is taking requests on the project's latest update. If you pledge, you can voice what kind of mini from Midgard you want made, or just suggest what order the current stretch goals should appear in!

I agree. Wasn't a fan of the wandering monk until I saw the sculpt. It's freaking great. This guy is insanely talented and has some great ideas for his game.

I'm looking forward to getting the beta rules and getting to chip in my ideas and feedback as he develops it. Not to mention, I love the bones he'll be using in lieu of dice. They'll look amazing all painted up and piled together!

Yeah, but it's possible! Honestly, the thing this project needs is a good infusion of minis selection, and Mick seems to be on it with drawing from his existing catalogue. Once he gets a more stretch goals and maybe another small infusion from his store and people will start increasing their current pledges along with some new faces :D

Alright, a challenge has been issued that if the project can hit $4,000 tonight (only $302 away now), all backers receiving a physical product will get 3 zombie bunny miniatures for free! At that point, a zombie swarm add-on will as be available. This add-on is $5 for 5 zombie bunnies.

Well, I'm in for 1 starter, maybe 2 if the Tranquility Crew gets unlocked! Also, I love Kurt Wyatt and Doctor Kilmer, so here's to them getting unlocked as well.
