Alright, what if you use something like evolution surge to give your eidolon a spell-like ability, they can then use it, yes? or if you upgrade one, to let them use it three times per day, they can. then let's say it wears off, they lose the ability, and you can cast it again, do they get the 'per day' uses of it back again? can you do that over and over to let your eidolon cast scorching ray over and over with it?

I would say you don't reset the count, but the raw side, I'm really unsure on.

right, i'm aware of the rampant abuse not resetting it would entail, but i'm curious as to raw.

As a big fan of the class, I will return to keep an eye on the topic. Just for the sake of avoiding abuse I would say no but it is expending a resource so it may not be so bad. I would be ok with using to say do a scorching ray and later doing another surge to do an acid arrow, another surge to do another level appropriate spell and so on. You are actually using both the spell slot or scroll/wand charge plus both the summoners action and eidolons action so it sure is costly in resource management. Remember the action economy is the most precious use of resouces.

I agree, I dont think ti's super abusive, you're using your own spells/money and your eidolon's actions on it.
