So I have been wondering what the CR of the following encounters would be. Couldn't find any examples in the books I had so I hope to hear if from you guys.
1) What's the CR of an animal companion when it is separated from it's master?
2) Same as 1, but an eiodolon that is separated from it's summoner. The Unfettered Eidolon seems to be more limited than a normal one so I wonder what the normal one would be.
3) A possessed PC. Like, a 5th level fighter possessed by a 6th level ghost sorcerer. Or possessed by a shadow demon.
4) An awakened animal with class levels.
Thanks for any help.

1. Effectively it would have a nonexistant CR and would provide 0 experience for killing it.
2. it either has a nonexistant CR or doesnt even exist itself because it disappears if it gets too far from the summoner (10,000 feet)
if you wanted to eyeball the CR's for these sorts of encounters you can look at the standards for to hit, damage and hp/ac of creatures by CR and pick an appropriate number but eidolons and AC's dont provide experience.

CR of animal companion/ familiar/ eidional/ Charmed person/ posesed person CR by is self. Then the party face the controler without it and it weaker it.
Fight #1 Wolf animal companion with out it master CR of the Wolf CR 1 or 400 exp. Then fight #2 Druid level 7 it master with out the animal companion CR 6 or 2400 exp.
OR Druid level 7 and it animal companion wolf togetehr is CR 6 and CR 1
or 2800 exp same exp either way.
Awaken anything is bit harder.
First Add the awaken to the target then check it CR vs table 1-1 on page 291 in the beastairy 1. Then you decide what CR it should be. for base new monster.
Second then add class levels to awaken beast. Then check it CR vs table 1-1 on page 291 in the beastairy 1. Then you decide what CR it should be for new monster a scoend time.

Some good ideas so far.
I did a bit of research into the books I own. So far, the Rival Guide for Pathfinder actually has two Druid Companions and one Eidolon statted out. The eidolon of a level 10 summoner came out to be a CR 8. However, seems like you all were correct about the animal companions not having a CR. Someone told me to look at the RotRL's Hook Mountain Massacre as there may be a statted animal companion with a CR I could look at.

Officially, the companion and/or Eidolon are part of the master's class features. If facing one without the other, you may consider splitting the CR, using quick rules-of-thumb:
If both the master and the companion are roughly equal in power, put each at the original CR -2. (adding two CR x gives a CR x+2)
If one is significantly (but not drastically) weaker than the other, consider splitting their CR into one CR-1 and one CR-3 part.
In cases of Familiars (which tend to pose an almost neglegible threat when on their own), you're pretty much on your own, though.

Hence why I said not to do alot of work ALL the pet are in the book some whre with CR all ready. The NPC is easyly figured out so just add
A+B=CR or ANIMAL COPAINON+ BOSS=CR
Here tell the CR of this fight Druid level 10 cast Charm Animal Mass then controlls a pack of 4 dire wolves CR 3 each. Then send them to track and kill party what CR is this fight. I say it CR 7.
It the same idea. Summoner level 10 Cast Summon Monster IV 2 time and Summon Monster III 4 times. He then Get 2D3+4and get 8 CR 2 Dreatch witch is CR 8.* Summoner is Greater INS and you do not know he is there. To room latter you his Greater ins runs out and you fight him. CR 9.
If it on the board and you do not get to do any to stop it you get the CR for facing it.
Other wise evey monster you fac will have leadership and you will get not exp for face ton of this minnons only the boss.

For the animal companion and eidolon, I'd eyeball it based on the "Monster Statistics by CR" chart in the Bestiary.
For a possessed PC, it's not really any different whether the PC was possessed in combat or out of combat, so I suspect the CR is the same as a normal ghost or shadow demon.
For an awakened animal, I'd use the "Monster Statistics by CR" chart for the animal part and the rules for advancing NPCs by class levels.
However, when I GM I don't use experience points, so this is mostly academic.
