RIP Michael O'Hare

Liberty's Edge

So long Commander Jeffery Sinclair, Valen

Babylon 5 is my favorite sci fi show. Sad so many of the actors are gone now.

RIP

Sovereign Court

Sad rest in peace Michael.

Oh no. I loved B5 and he did a good job with his character.

Without B5 there would be no story arcs in scifi it would be all monster of the week.

While I was not a fan of Michaels acting in the early episodes - B5 would not have been the same without him and his arc as Valen was brilliant.

You will be missed along with all of the other wonderful actors that have passed on from th show.

Liberty's Edge

Pathfinder Adventure, Adventure Path, Rulebook Subscriber

He was my fave leader on Babylon 5. I know most people liked Sheridan better; but I always preferred Sinclair.

Been a rough year for sci-fi actors....

RIP Michael.

So very sad. :(

Shadow Lodge

I think we can safely rule out the prospect of a B5 reunion show.

Sovereign Court

Looks like the annual watching of the series will be a memorial this year. You will be missed, Commander.

I also liked Micheal O'Hare in B5. Except for a few early season moments, I never really got what people meant when they talked about his acting or him being miscast. I guess I just want to like things too much. I assumed it was all part of the whole idea of his character not really being here for keeps since (in retrospect) he needed to go back in time to be Valen eventually. It saddens me that so many of the fine actors from that series have been passing over the past few years. Somehow it also makes me more eager from my wife to start that B5 d20 campaign she has been plotting the past few months.

Unfortunately, we lost at least three people from the show in the past 6 years. Michael O'Hare makes four now.

Andreas Katsulas
Richard Biggs
Jeff Conaway

I went to MegaCon in Orlando this year and got to meet Stephen Furst, Peter Jurasik, and Bruce Boxlitner. Stephen did not look well. I really love that show, and am saddened at how many people we have lost from it. Time to pull out the DVD's and watch them all again.

Tim Choate (Zathras) as well, alas.

Katsulas was 59 almost 60. Conaway was 60; and O'Hare was 60. Rough age for the cast of B5. They will all be missed.

Without doubt, B5 was one of the great TV series of all time.

I agree.

B5 is one of my favorite sci-fi series of all time, the acting in the pilot was awful though. Sinclair was more interesting when he came back later in the series. Londo and G'kar were my favorites in the show.

And who can forget the terrible face/headpiece job on Delenn in the pilot. :-P

Scarab Sages

And the general 'Mos Eisley' feel of the zocalo...

Farewell Michael OHare, may your last journey be a kind one.

Afraid so. Here's one of the posts about it:

It is our sad duty to once again convey the news of the death of a B5 cast member. Tim Choate, loved by fans as Zathras, died in a tragic motorcyle accident while on his way to a play rehearsal on the night of Friday 24 September 2004. He was 49.

As well as playing Zathras, the actor also played Polix in Crusade's "The Rules of the Game".

Our condolences go to Tim's family.

That was pretty much ruled out by the dismal performance of the sequel movies, and the messed up production of Crusade.

Sometimes you just have to acknowledge that the last page has been written and the book must needs be closed.
