My wife and I host our Pathfinder gaming sessions every two weeks. Due to the fact that we are not only part of the game, but parents as well with a small child, we ask that everyone bring food and drink as we cannot provide enough for all the players. The GM agreed with our sentiments and made this a cardinal rule.
One game, one of the other players (a good friend of mine), put together an amazing chili beef and bean dip with the GM consuming it vigorously.
About an hour into session, one of the other players (my wife, I think) asks our GM to describe a particular room we are in.
Player: So, uhh, okay what is in the room? Describe it.
GM: Okay, so, the room has...wait <sniffs the air twice>
<everyone at the table now looking at the GM quizzically>
Me: Dude, what was that all about?
GM: What? Oh! Uh, I uh farted and wanted to make sure it didn't stink too badly.
<whole room looses their mind laughing causing the game to pause for about 5 minutes>
Served aboard the USS Kearsarge (LHD-3) from 2000 to 2003. Quite a lot of fond, and not so fond memories. The thing I miss the most is being out to sea at night. When you are in the middle of the Atlantic, the night sky is just amazing to behold.
This looks absolutely amazing! I would definitely pay into a Kickstarter to ensure that you project goes on without a hitch.

B5 is one of my favorite sci-fi series of all time, the acting in the pilot was awful though. Sinclair was more interesting when he came back later in the series. Londo and G'kar were my favorites in the show. And who can forget the terrible face/headpiece job on Delenn in the pilot. :-P

What I find ridiculous is the thought that a player has spent more time, money, and thought than the game master; that would imply that the "player" has somehow taken control of the game since they are creating more content and contributing more to it than the "game master"/host of the game. I mean what's even the point of having a proxy game master who apparently sucks at narrating your stories? So you can play out your character in your world?
Players should have control over their characters, with this I agree. The game / campaign is a combination and fleshing of ideas. Sometimes the players even contribute to creation of the world. But if the players have the same responsibility and power as the game master, what is the GM for? Everyone is a GM.
I have been reading this thread and the one that inspired it. I have been waiting for someone to point out the bolded segment regarding the "we are a collective" brand of playstyle.
If everyone has the same responsibility as the GM, then are you really playing D&D/PF? Or are you just sitting around regurgitating amazing character tropes for each individual character?
-What is the responsibility of the GM?
-What separates the GM from the players?
-Who arbitrates a rule issue? Is it the GM, or do the players have some kind of "at-table" democracy where the GM is merely one of five?
I am curious about the answers to these questions from those espousing the "equality for all" bend at their gaming tables.

I went to MegaCon in Orlando this year and got to meet Stephen Furst, Peter Jurasik, and Bruce Boxlitner. Stephen did not look well. I really love that show, and am saddened at how many people we have lost from it. Time to pull out the DVD's and watch them all again.

Pre-battlegrounds WoW with the Southshore and Tarren Mill PvP on Terenas server. What an adrenaline rush knowing that there was a such a huge level disparity but it did not matter. A level 60 in Tier gear would kill you and a gang of players in their 20s would gank him/her back in return. Great times...

The mega-majority of MMO gamers are people that are over 17, and/or they are kids with parents that don't care.
I would like to see the game shoot for an 'M' rating, simply so GW never has to hold back. The only thing they couldn't do is portray hardcore sexual behavior, which isn't something really needed in an mmo. I would like to see the game made in the style of R-rated middle-ages movies.
The game is already rated 'A' simply because there is in-game chat, and unless GW pulls an SOE and starts forced-censoring phrases like: "Anyone want to run the missions on Amu******t Island?" this isn't going to change. You can never make chat tame enough for right-wing christian family ideals, there are always loops around it, it's the internet.

I agree with you 100%. I've been touting this game to several of my friends who are looking for something a more gritty per-se in terms of game play. However, given that I have been quietly lurking around these forums since the first blog, I think you may be talking to a brick wall at this point. There are too many people who do not wish to have a niche game, but rather one that caters to teenage Jimmy who just grew his first chest hair to Grandma Betty who's getting ready to meet her maker. The age of gaming belonging to any one group is on a downward slope so fast that even Shawn White can not keep up with its rapidity.
I have hopes that the guys at GW and Paizo will try to make their "own" game rather than attempt to copy elements from the one that McDonalded the MMO world.
I am a big fan of the Wheel of Time series and would like to see a version of the strategic game known as stones implemented. Dicing in its many forms would also be a welcome addition for the many player created Inns throughout the starting area and abroad.
Disenchanter wrote: I didn't ask for a copy, but that sure does make it easier.
Yeah, you hit the same "wall" in Seattle I do.
But your local hops are great. And your ISP hops are good.
So, this tells us that the problem isn't your connection on your end.
It isn't your browser, because you have the same connection issues with Firefox and IE...
Do you only have this sluggishness with Paizo? If so, it is probably the connection between you and Paizo.
If you have this problem with all pages, I think you either have malware or some configuration quirks. (That doesn't mean you did anything wrong, sometimes settings get weird on their own.)
Do you have anti-spyware/anti-virus installed? Have you run scans recently? What scanning programs are you using?
Actually, I have this issue with one other site: Dominos.com. Yes, I have Ad-aware, AVG 9.0, Ccleaner, and occasionally I run a program called Advanced System Care. I use both Ad-Aware and AVG to scan my computer for issues.

Disenchanter wrote: I was afraid of that... I have the same problem. There seems to be one particular server in the Seattle area that doesn't work as it should...
Anyway.
Here is a bit more in depth explanation of tracert in case what I am about to explain isn't as clear as it should be.
Open up a command prompt again and type:
tracert paizo.com
This will probably take some time, and then "request timed out" somewhere near the Paizo servers.
As long as the first few lines are quick (times well under 200ms) it is very likely an external error. This does not mean it is a Paizo error. Just it isn't likely your computer or ISP.
Some things to look for:
The first and/or second output line could have '*' for times. This is very likely if you are using Comcast. (They are notorious for not setting up their servers properly.) You can ignore this.
If the first few "hops" are taking a long time, and the last part of the line (the destination/location part) has your ISP name in there somewhere, it suggests your ISP is having a problem. Give their tech support a call, and try working with them to resolve it.
If even the first few hops time out... There is something else going on.
I can try walking you through it, but I will need to know more about your internet setup. (Do you go through a router and/or other hardware firewall, do you share the connection with others, etc.) If it reaches this point, be prepared to give detailed (but personal information free) descriptions.
Alright, at about hop 15 is when things go to garbage. Here's a copy of the Tracert you requested:

Disenchanter wrote: Damn. The "broken pics" usually points to cache problems, and I was hoping that would clear up the sluggishness...
Clearing the cache on IE8, if you are interested.
But you appear to have a bit more intensive problem.
Is it only a problem on Paizo?
Unfortunately, there is a trend of not configuring servers properly on the 'net, so my usual bag of tricks to help figure out if it is local or not doesn't tend to work anymore...
We can try it though.
Open up a Command Prompt (under All Programs > Accessories) and type:
ping paizo.com
If it doesn't start a series of "Connection Timed Out" messages, what are the approximate times? (press Ctrl+c to stop the readout.)
The next step gets really involved, so I will wait and see if ping gives us any clues.
Tried pinging paizo.com Sent out 4 packets with 100% loss. (Request timed out)
Disenchanter wrote: It might be a caching problem... Do you clear your cache routinely?
If not, you might want to give it a try.
I am guessing you are using an older version of Firefox? Your error says Mozilla 4.0 (and Firefox is up to Mozilla 5.0). You might want to consider updating. Anyway.
For Firefox look under Tools > Options > Privacy
Depending on your settings, you can see different things. Look for a link to "Clear History now" or something similar. Click on it, and you should get a dialog box with a list of items that can be check marked. Make sure Cache is checked (the other items can be checked, or not, as you see fit) and then click the "Clear Now" button at the bottom of the window.
Close all browser windows. Restart your browser, and try again.
Let me know if that works, and if not what browser you are using.
I'm actually using IE8. I tried what you suggested however for Firefox. Still sluggish on the pickup for Firefox as well.
Greetings!

Maybe if we sell out and have to reprint, but that day is a LONG way away. Then perhaps an errata to the book with the necessary subsequent changes. For instance, the removal of the Creation Domain in the PFRPG Core Rule book kinda puts a damper on people who play Elvish Clerics who wish to Worship Findeladlara. This drops her worshippers from 5 domain choices to 4.

Hopefully it will raise the level with content, I will definitely go through it with proper attention. On a side note, even "Infernal Syndrome" has its share of (please forgive me the term) mediocre illustrations from what I have seen. I wouldn't mind if I was not used to spectacular works like those in Legacy of Fire (or even the previous issues of Council btw). Didn't worry much about the art myself, but the text is frakking awesome. I've never thought much about playing a dwarf, but this has me interested.
Light years ahead of elves of Golarion in my opinion. Speaking of Elves of Golarion, are there any plans to re-do that book to match up with the recent release of the PF RPG Manual?

I just noticed this, but why does the Half-Plate armor have a -1 Dex modifier?
Greetings!
I was playing around with your character creator and so far it looks and feels great. However, when creating a test Fighter I noticed that the AC for Touch Attacks was still taking into account my Fighters shield bonus. Additionally, the AC bonus for Shield, Heavy Wooden is +2, not +3. Your new additions for the Weapons Locker is great and I especially like how you separate the Weapons Locker into type tabs. Keep it up! Looking forward to future updates.

Will you also be adding excel tabs for spell casters to choose spells? I'm really uncertain what I want to do for spells. At this current time, I have no plans to make a spellsheet creator. I really do miss Ema's Spellsheets (for those that are familiar with his 3.5ed sheets, you understand the loss) - but the evil, (can't post the words I want to use here) WotC told him to kill his resource. I tried to convince Ema to jump on board with Pathfinder, but he's in more of a wait and see approach. I'm currently teaching myself ASP.NET and MySQL, so I may construct a similar web-resource in the future. (Hopefully someone beats me to it :)
For now, James Fassler's, "Pathfinder sCore" is the next best thing to Ema's sheets. I suspect that if I were to build an Excel spellsheet creator, it would probably be very close in appearance to sCore, so I'm unsure if much would be gained by me doing work that someone else has already done.
I may in the very least create a spellsheet for spontaneous casters to record their known spells, and for wizards to record their spells in their spellbook. (Perhaps this is what you were asking, so in that case, the answer is "most likely yes".) Right on. By the way, I've discovered that if your PC has a 20 score on any attribute and you get a +2 to that same attribute (due to racial mod) the calculation gets very angry at you. Just thought you should know. Again, great Excel generator.

RE: Standard Outfit choices - The armor category is ideally just for selecting any armor that gives you an armor AC bonus.
RE: Wand weapon selection - The weapon category is for weapons that cause damage and are listed in the weapons table of the core rulebook.
In my beta version, I will be including a "store" where you will be able to gear up and have everything appear on the equipment page.
Wands do damage though. In the form of Magic Missle, etc.. Consider it the casters "Ranged" weapon. As far as the Standard Outfits though, for Magic Users and Monks, it's just nice to have the option on the sheet so other players know what you are wearing. Monks for instance take penalties if they wear anything other than cloth armor.
