So, I have a halfling cleric. Sword and Board.
Tell me if this is right:
If he uses a short sword, it does 1d4 damage and is half the weight of a Medium short sword. If a long sword is would do 1d6 damage and also half the weight of a medium long sword.
He can wield either one with just one hand, right? The other would be his Small size Heavy Shield.
For ranged weapon he uses a sling staff, halfling. I guess this would also be Small damage at 1d6? What if he is using it with two hands? Do range weapons also change the damage up to Medium?
If he decides to use the long sword two-handed it would be a regular weight and deal Medium 1d8 damage?
A bit tough to wrap my head around as I haven't played a non-Medium PC in Pathfinder yet.
Thanks.

He can pick up a regular sized longsword and has to wield it with two hands. It will do the normal 1d8 damage, but he takes a -2 to attack for being the wrong size.
If he two-hand wields a small longsword it's still 1d6, just his strength bonus to it is 50% higher.
Basically they work the same way for medium as for small characters, just small ones use the damage from the small column, that's it.
