Hello all. I'm looking to make a full spellcaster for PFS and I was considering a wizard or druid. The wizard, I was thinking a Thassilonian Specialisist in Conjuration, the wizard a (predominantly) melee character. Since most of my games are online and take from 3 weeks to 3 months to complete, I'd rather have something that's viable at 1st/2nd level.
Has anyone got advice on this?

I've made a gnome (pyromaniac) cleric (theologian) who casts Burning Hands as CL4 at level 1, and she is an effective healer (Selective Channeling) and able to stand on (near) the front line (medium armour prof, high Dex). Thinking about Quick Channel at level 3 to channel/heal twice in a round when it is really needed.
Have you thought about Magus? Take a trip weapon like a Heavy Flail or Guisarme and cast Daze. Take an Heirloom Weapon for that +2 to Trip.
The only real trouble I've had with melee wizards in the past is AC (and you don't hit as often as the martial characters). Weapon Finesse helps with that, though your damage potential drops. It becomes worth considering a shield - an easy way to increase the AC, cheap AC enhancement, and there's Shield Focus to take as well as Dodge. I personally avoided casting Mage Armour unless I knew combat was imminent because I felt that missing out on one round of combat is a big deal for someone who wants to contribute to melee.
Still, it is quite do-able, and should be fun. Use Daze whenever you can do so without provoking an AoO. Find a trait or something to give you proficiency with a weapon that you can use Weapon Finesse with (Heirloom Weapon).
Stats:10,16,12,18,12,7.
Human. Weapon Finesse, Dodge.
Attack +2 until you get a MW buckler, then +3.
AC 15, 19 with Mage Armour. 5% chance (natural 1) of spell failure due to buckler.
I've seen rogues with worse melee stats.
