Monk & Power Attack

Rules Questions

Hey there,

So I'll go right through the point. SRD quote:

Flurry of Blows wrote:
For the purpose of these attacks, the monk's base attack bonus from his monk class levels is equal to his monk level. For all other purposes, such as qualifying for a feat or a prestige class, the monk uses his normal base attack bonus.
Power Attack wrote:

When your base attack bonus reaches +4, and every 4 points thereafter, the penalty increases by –1 and the bonus to damage increases by +2.

I understand that for qualifying for Power Attack, the monk couldn't at first level.

But about the use of Power Attack...

If a Lv4 Monk uses power attack, would it does:
1) -1/+2 since he has 3 BAB as Monk.
2) -2/+4 since he is considered having a BAB of 4 for his flurry of blows

? ^^

If he is using FoB then it is -2/+4. If he is not using FoB then it is -1/+2.

Silver Crusade

The penalty/bonus for Power Attack is calculated from the Base Attack of the attack you are using for that particular attack.

So, what I am saying is, I agree with Wraithstrike.

I agree with Malachi & Wraithstrike.
I'll also add that when used as part of a Flurry the Monk will get the 2:1 ratio for each of his attacks (where as a non monk using TWF would get 2:1 & 1:1 respectively).
