Hello all,
Can a character harvest poison from summoned creature or does the poison disappear with the poison when gone. I would think that if a character has been stung, the poison stays with them even if the monster has left the building (dead). This would be an economical method of acquiring poison.
The person is still poisoned because the effect does not leave once the monster leaves. If you are trying to separate poison from a victim's blood the rules do not support it. They don't even support milking poisonous monsters.
Summoned creatures that are killed or even knocked out simply disappear.
Creatures bit by the poison continue to be affected by it. Make up whatever explanation you like. Maybe the poison magically binds with the victim's body so it doesn't disappear.
Makes sense to me. Although, not all critters are going to let you extract their poison glands, even if you can command them.
But if their poison injected into an opponent stays after the spell ends (or an opponent's summon stays in your character), I don't see why you couldn't keep any extracted poison after the summon ends, as well. Know that they disappear as soon as they die, so you can't kill the summon to extract its poison.
But like wraith said, there's no RAW to support extracting poison from monsters.
I think extracting usable poison from victims would be impossible due to contamination from their own fluids.
It is part of the monster. I would say that is like cutting them inhalf. One half would not sit there.
The poison effecting the person could be the damage caused by being poisoned already effecting the person.
Everything from the summoned creature disappears with the creature. You can not summon monsters to get items/materials. Think about it .. poison is one thing but what about Bralani who comes with a +1 sword and bow ?
