On your person

This phrase is causing me some confusion.

I want to take the Tiefling Alternate Race Trait to be able to use my tail to draw things as a Swift action.

What does "on your person" mean? Are these just items holstered or attached to your belt? Does this include things in backpacks? Just basing "on your person" to real life it would imply anything that is directly considered in your posession (ex in your pockets, bags, hidden in your undergarments, etc.).

Is this a GM call or something that was defined somewhere and I can't find it?

You're overthinking it. Basically i'd say it's anything you're carrying.

Good question. On one hand, I would consider anything I'm carrying (including the stuff ive got in my backpack) to be on my person. On the other hand, I find it difficult to believe that retrieving something out of a normal backpack can be considered a swift action. FAQ'd.

IIRC it refer to things that are easy to reach - holsters, sheaths, anything attached to belt. Pockets might be "on your person" but contents of bags, sacks or backpacks or anything deliberately hidden require longer time to draw and thus are probably beyond the scope of this ability.

Hmm a 100% split LoL

I imagine the intent is a simple, clean, "anything that would have been a move action to retrieve gets upgraded to a swift action".

Anything else seems like overthinking it.

I'm with Jiggy on this...

I agree with Jiggy as well. If something is well hidden or put away securely it should require more effort than a swift action and it probably requires fine manipulation that the tail is capable of.

Me too, even if I might be not as clear on my previous post.

Liberty's Edge

+1 to Jiggy. That makes sense to me.

Ok then that is definitely worth it as a Tiefling that isn't a Sorceror. Especially since I am a Tiefling that is an Alchemist.

Grand Lodge

Are you a small sized Tiefling?
That is another option for Tieflings, and if you are a bomb focused Alchemist, it actually works out for you.
No change in ability modifiers either.

The only class this isn't outright worth it for is sorcerer and even then I'd consider it.
