Stacking

Rules Questions

Are there any bonuses that do stack? I have read in the core rulebook that "most" do not, but are there any that do? I throught when I played 3.5 that there were some but I can't seem to find anything in Pathfinder that says so.

Thanks

Dodge does, anything untyped does. Very little else does. Note: effects from the same source do not even if the type normally stacks with itself. Example: a dodge bonus from two of the same spell.

Any bonuses of different types stack.

For example, initiative: dex bonus, feat bonus from improve initiative, and trait bonus from reactionary all stack.

Quote:
Bonus Types: Usually, a bonus has a type that indicates how the spell grants the bonus. The important aspect of bonus types is that two bonuses of the same type don't generally stack. With the exception of dodge bonuses, most circumstance bonuses, and racial bonuses, only the better bonus of a given type works (see Combining Magical Effects). The same principle applies to penalties—a character taking two or more penalties of the same type applies only the worst one, although most penalties have no type and thus always stack. Bonuses without a type always stack, unless they are from the same source.

There you go, Concerro did I better job than I did. :)

This question seems to come up a lot. I actually knew the answer, but I did not want a mini-debate to start so I just copied and pasted. :)

Thank you very much, can you tell me the source in case I ever have to look it up?

The part about dodge bonuses stacking can also be found on page 179, under "Armor Class".
