Silver Crusade Lone Wolf Development

Version 6.20 of the Pathfinder files for Hero Lab is now available from the automatic updates mechanism within Hero Lab.

This update adds Player's Companion: Varisia, Birthplace of Legends as a free update for all those who have the Player's Companion: Golarion #3 bundle. This bundle is available for $4.99, and already contains Blood of Fiends and Blood of Angels.

For the Adventure Path line, this update adds the player's guide for the new Shattered Star adventure path, along with player content from issues #60 and #61.

This version also updates the Pathfinder Society rules to the new version 4.2.

And, we've got a number of other improvements - while printing, check out the new "Abilities & Gear Description Appendix" printout option. For your Monks, take a look at their unarmed strike and their monk weapons - the stats for that weapon used in a flurry of blows are now displayed along with the normal attack stats for that weapon. We've also improved some of the back-end code in a way that improves the evaluation speed for a character portfolio.

If you're not familiar with Hero Lab, please head over to the Hero Lab page of our website. There, you can download the program in demo mode and try it out. The only things you won't be able to do in demo mode are save and print (although you can see the print preview), so that you can give it a thorough test before you decide to purchase our program.

Another option if you'd like to try Hero Lab is our Hero Lab for the Pathfinder Beginner Box program. This program is free, and does support saving and printing, and allows you to make heroes and monsters from the Pathfinder Beginner Box.

Huzzah!

just curious tho.. when do you expect update for the Races book?

Cool Beans! I'm looking forward to Ultimate Equipment myself. Regardless, keep up the awesome work. I love myself some HL.

What exactly are you looking for? The Advanced Race Guild is already in it...

Doh.. I must not have downloaded that bit yet.. was waiting on it :(
Disregard everything but the Huzzah! then...

It's taking -seconds- to download! I want it NOW!

Aha! More awesome-sauce for our feasts of awesomeness!!!

On a related note, the one thing I'd like to see added to the ARG module is the ability to save custom races. It's a bit boring recreating them for every new character.

THANK YOU!

I -love- the new option to print the "Abilities and Gear Description Appendix"!

Once you've created the race, save the portfolio. Then, each time you want to create a character with that race, use the "Import Hero From Portfolio" option in the Portfolio menu to grab a copy of that saved portfolio, and start adding classes and equipment from there.

Alternatively, once you have the point values worked out using the custom race option, open the editor (Tools menu...Launch Editor) and create a permanent version.

I'm sorry to say that internally, a race created with the editor and a race created with the custom race dialogs are stored in very different ways. Creating a translator that turns a custom race into an editor race will require several weeks of work, so it's not something we'll be able to add to our schedule soon.

I pretty much suck at using the HL Editor. I tried adding a few custom feats my group uses, but I'm really no good at that.

Anyway, thanks for taking your time to answer. Keep up the good work.

Saving the race as a "template" portfolio is the route I used and it's working great. And this is with my HL Editor skills being pretty good (I created all of the Earthdawn Pathfinder edition races for use in HL, for example). Using the portfolio template helps in case a GM ever wants to check the points and such.

Thank for the update!

Is anyone else having problems with the Furious Focus feat not working in Herolab? My Oracle/Barbarian/Rage Prophet is having problems with it (I just noticed so I have probably been shorting myself since 3rd level).

The bonus of the first attack isn't just used for full attacks - it's also used for attacks of opportunity. So, we have two options - show the attack listing with furious focus calculated in, and then users have to remember to undo furious focus' bonus when making an attack of opportunity, or not show furious focus' effects, and users have to remember to apply that bonus. Until we have a separate AoO bonus listed, we've gone with the second option.

I would have gone the other way because I am making an attack with Furious Focus every round and I rarely make more than one AoO per combat encounter, but thank you for explaining your reasoning.
