Does the Knowledge skill encompass just facts or both facts and how to learn?

Rules Questions

Say you have a being with Knowledge (nobility) or some other skill with facts based on current events. Suppose this being goes into hibernation for 10,000 years. Will the skill in question be useless or does it also encompass being able to catch up with what's new?

Liberty's Edge

Probably I would change it to Knowledge (history) of the appropriate period and then allow him to purchase new ranks as soon as possible if he is interested.

More than likely gather information would be needed. The rules assume the character is in the current time period. In short this is GM Fiat territory.

Hm...

I'd go with the latter, Knowledge (history) includes the 10K years she slept through.

Do any Paizo people have anything to say?
