Which regions of the Inner Sea are Tengu most likely to live in?

Lost Omens Campaign Setting General Discussion

I'm trying to make a back-story for my tengu bard(archaeologist), but I don't see any mention in the Advanced Races Guide or the Inner Sea World Guide of where Tengu usually reside around the Inner Sea. So, which regions of the Inner Sea do Tengu usually live in?

The Shackles has a high concentration

I assume most any race has some sort of presence on Absalom

Liberty's Edge

I would suspect that tengu would probably like being near major ports. A key question is how accepting a nation is of unusual persons. So, Andoran might be a bit more accepting of tengu than Nidal.

The Shackles have a high concentration and they tend to act as bad luck sponges.

There are thieves guilds consisting of Tengu in the lands of the Linnorm kings.

I'm sure Absalom has quite a few as well.

The Advanced Race Guide is a setting-neutral book. It contains no information specific to Golarion, and some of the races it describes don't even have a presence within the setting.

In addition to what has already been stated tengu also have a large presence on the continent of Tian Xia. They can be found throughout its lands, and they even control their own (fractured) nation of Kwanlai.

They've been in absolom for a while.

There's a population in the shackles according to the inner sea world guide description of the area.

Thanks for the information guys.

Urban/Ports works pretty well for my tengu's background, but it's good to know thet The Shackles and Tian Xia are options too.

There's a small number of them in Kaer Maga

It's probably accurate to say there's a small number of just about *everything* in Kaer Maga...

I seem to remember an adventure or article or something that indicated there were some in Riddleport, Varisia.

Kwanlai and The Shackles. And, from what I can extrapolate from Shackles lore, Sargava probably has a good number of them too, due to the frequency with which they interact. Absalom is another good place. Katapesh as well (though they're likely to be slaves). The Tian Xia nation of Kwanlai has the highest concentration of tengu (being their only "native" country, so to speak). Also, based on geographical common sense, some Tengu must exist in the Land of the Linnorm Kings or Varisia, since the quickest and most reliable way to get to the Inner Sea from Tian Xia is through the northern pass over the Crown of the World, but that's mostly guess-work on my part.

Kwanlai and the Shackles, and the areas around there, are your best bet by far.
