Oracles and illusions

Shadow Lodge

What does an oracle with clouded vision see when someone casts, for example, silent image?

Do they see:

1) Nothing. It doesn't really exist, so their extra-sensory darkvision wouldn't pick it up.

2) Exactly what the caster wants them to see, ignoring the curse and making it an obvious illusion. (The spell says "This spell creates the visual illusion of an object, creature, or force, as visualized by [the caster].")

3) A 'cloudy' version of the illusion, requiring them to interact with it to get a save, as normal.

I'm reasonably sure the intent is option 3, but the other two options would be very interesting from a GM and player perspective.

Wayfinders

They need to be within the range of how far they can see, which I think is 30ft. When they see the illusion within 30' they then see #2, then if they interact #3 applies except for the cloudy version of the illusion.

Shadow Lodge

As a point of clarification, I'm going into this assuming that the oracle sees only in darkvision (think Daredevil). I've read other posts where people treat their oracles as just awesomely nearsighted (I can see normally up to 30ft. and I have darkvision 30ft.), and that's never set well with me.

Oh, but it does really exist. There really is an illusion out there, and darkvision will let you see it just fine.

The illusion is out there, but the way this Oracle sees it depends on the visual abilities of said Oracle. It's not a Mind-Affecting spell after all.

This.

It's easiest to think of Image spells as holograms. They're real, they have a position, take up space and have properties of their own. It's just that interacting gives you a save, and making that save lets you see through the image.

Aha! Thanks for that. For some reason I assumed illusions were, but I double checked and you're absolutely right.

A wonderful analogy. Thanks for your answers. :)
