I'm really liking the gunslinger class and I LOVE the Sword Saint archetype for the Samurai. Now I'm wondering what a "Gun Saint" might loose from the gunslinger class if you took the abilities of the Sword Saint and made them for guns instead of swords.
Any thoughts on this will be welcome. No trolls please. They bite.

Alternately, one could look into the Holy Gun archetype for the paladin.
That archetype is rather weak, though. Its "Smiting Shot" only works for 1 attack per grit (instead of lasting the whole battle, like the standard Smite Evil). And the character starts with only 1 grit point, and stays that way for 10 levels before getting more, unless it spends feats. And both gunslingers and paladins need every feat they can spare.
A Gunslinger (Pistolero/Mysterious Stranger) 5/ Paladin 2~5 (specially Oath of Vengeance)seems to me as the best way to go. Then add more levels of each class depending on what the player wants to focus on. 11 levels of Gunslinger allows Signature Trick, a very good feat, that can grant free damage.
On the other hand, Paladin levels increase Mrcies, daily uses of Smite Evil and cool things like immunity to charm effects and a very nasty thing called Aura of Justice.
Gunslinger levels will generally increase raw damage. Paladin levels will increase survivability (thanks to mercies and better will saves) and potential smite evil damage.
I'd suggest either a Gunslinger (Pistolero/Mysterious Stranger) 5/Paladin 15 or a Gunslinger 15/Paladin 5.
In both cases, the best way to build the character, IMO, is getting 5 levels of Gunslinger first, to get Pistol Training ASAP, then getting at least 2 of Paladin for awesome saves, (although I'd recommend getting 5, for immunity to fear, minor spell casting and divine bond), then complete the remaining 10 anyway
