I have the 5th printing of the core rulebook, I was reading the Barkskin spell (d20pfsrd has the same description as the printed book) and noticed a confusing part of the description which is:
"This enhancement bonus increases by 1 for every three caster levels above 3rd, to a maximum of +5 at 12th level"
Now I am reading this as after 3rd level, and every three caster levels after that, add an additional +1 bonus to the +2 that the spell grants to natural armor. But doing the math, the maximum bonus tops out at +3 at 12th level, not +5.
Or I am I supposed to read this is as, at 12th level you gain an additional +3 bonus to the +2 that the spell gives you, adding it together, grants a total of +5 bonus, which is the maximum?

+2 right out of the box,
+3 at CL 6-8,
+4 at CL 9-11,
+5 at CL 12+
Yes to the last part. You get +5 at 12th level.
