Is there any reason that i can't make a dayjob check off my Eidolon's skill? Replacing my own, specifically. Obviously 2 checks wouldn't be allowed.
My character is pretty against any sort of labor, I don't even carry a weapon, I make contracts, or summon creatures to do my bidding. I summon unseen servants to clean my room, Mount's to haul things if the Eidolon isn't able to, Working smacks of effort...however running a shop where my Eidolon works the trade seems... less problematic.
I presume you can't simply because it states that you character must make the day job check, but the Eidolon is a class feature, it's permanent, and could easily be used in this capacity.
I want my Eidolon to be a sailor, sometimes you need to make private ship routes, and I have no interest in holding lines or swinging booms.
If it's covered somewhere and I'm just blind I apologize :)

Since they don't apply to Day Jobs I would say you can't use their skill for your Day Job roll
The Eidolon is not a permanent effect, therefore does not apply to day job rolls.
Come on Jon... Like I said.. you need to be on the boards more often so you can quote these things.. ;)

*shrug*. Doesn't matter, the rules say "you", meaning the PC. Not his class features.
Good point Jon, that is why you can't use your Animal Companion's, Mount's or Pet's skill either.
Though Fluff wise you can use them as part of your Day Job, just not mechanically.
Profession (Street Performer) Dance Monkey, Dance!
Profession (Cavalry)
Profession (Guard Dog Handler)
and So on..

figured as much, thanks google-fu failed on source. Oh well, spending an evolution point for ~1-2% character wealth and some fluff seems weak anyway, but if it worked the fluffyness would make it fun :D. Oh well I guess it's back to the old "taking more powerful choices because interesting character choices aren't legal"
I like that there is disparaging information on the permanency of Eidolons for synth, since it has been used to qualify for feats and you can have the bonus for more than 24 hours. (Elves literally forever, because of trance)At that point it feels pretty permanent to me.
I thought about shopkeeper and things like that, but I get paid well to put contracts in the hands of people that will expand the Qadiran empire, I'm far too busy to run a shop myself.
I'll probably continue ignoring day jobs, or pick up craft(contract) since its the only thing im probably willing to do :)

I was going to ask nearly the same thing. I think my version is funny so I will add it anyway. I left my society guide at home so I am not sure but I think it said that now you can use sleight of hand to pick pocket in place of a day job role. Last night while leveling, I noticed the ranks I gave my eidolon in sleight of hand for the purpose of secret faction missions and finally thought about using it for pick pocketing or a crooked game of three card Monte. I thought I would also tell the GM that sometimes when you see a monstrosity like my eidolon cheat you, you know better than to call'em out on it and just stay quite efore things get violent. Then I would suggest that maybe it would be worth another +2 circumstance bonus to the roll:)

There's a vanity that allows for that(See Pathfinder Society Field Guide, page 62, right above "Property"). Otherwise, no: Craft, Profession, or Perform.

Would you like us to let you know when you're coming across as snotty and passive-aggressive?

Heh, I guess sarcasm doesn't come across well on the internet.
True as it may be I was hoping that my class feature, which is certainly a permanent source that is available to me, would be usable.
Caravan is the other fluffy choice, and I'll probably go that route.

Profession (Gambler) might be a good fit for the Trade Prince.
and one of these days, i'm taking out that eidolon. :)
Poor Eidolon did get blown up once at gencon, something about playing up and have Juju zombie wrecking critting for ~30 lol.
I ended up focusing on faction missions for optimizing Arcanis and his Eidolon. I've been doing quite well, only failed one mission and it was because I just kinda blanked the faction mission after making the requisite diplomacy check and didn't hand the dudes a note lol.
I think I'm going to pick up a caravan to make money off all those trade routes :D
