Swift Alchemy states: "At 3rd level, an alchemist can create alchemical items with astounding speed. It takes an alchemist half the normal amount of time to create alchemical items, and he can apply poison to a weapon as a move action."
For reference, Master Alchemist states:"In addition, whenever you make alchemical items or poisons using Craft (alchemy), use the item’s gp value as its sp value when determining your progress (do not multiply the item’s gp cost by 10 to determine its sp cost)." This seems to imply that the developers distinguish between alchemic items and poisons. Saying alchemic items, such as in Swift Alchemy, does not imply poisons as well.
So what exactly does Swift Alchemy apply to?
1: Alchemic items such as Sunrods (seems like a resounding yes)
2: Poisons?
3: Potions?
4: Extracts?
5: Mutagens?
My inclination would be anything you roll a Craft (Alchemy) check for, but that doesn't seem to be in the rules.

- Yes.
- Yes.
- No. (That's Brew Potions.)
- Oddly enough: no.
- No.
My inclination would be anything you roll a Craft (Alchemy) check for, but that doesn't seem to be in the rules.
Isn't it? "whenever you make alchemical items or poisons using Craft (alchemy)" seems clear to me. A lot of stuff that's referred to as "alchemy", including almost the whole Alchemist class itself, is actually unrelated to the Craft (Alchemy) skill and therefore unchanged by the Swift Alchemy ability.

Well, the text you quoted refers to Master Alchemist. I only bring that up because it is an example of when the developers decided to explicitly state that something applies to both, instead of just saying "alchemic items" and imply poisons as well. My question is about Swift Alchemy, not Master Alchemist.
In any case, I'm inclined to agree with your analysis.
