So, I'm curious about this part:
At 3rd level, a feral child gains the favored terrain ability as a ranger of her class level. A feral child may not choose urban as a favored terrain.
Thing is, class level has no effect on favored terrain--except to grant more favored terrains or increase the bonus, per the original post's questions. Is this part of the text meaningless, then?

So, I assume this applies to a world walker druid as well? Though that might complicate things in the case of a world walker with one or more levels of ranger.
In any case, looks like the Hero Lab folks will need to update their archetype data. Also, archetypes that grant a favored terrain . . . not so great, actually.

The more I think about it, the less sense this makes, especially since it says both "gains the favored terrain ability" and "as a ranger of her class level". To me, this would imply getting the entire ability exactly as written in the ranger write-up. The Horizon Walker prestige class would work differently, as it specifies what levels improve the ability as opposed to stating "as a ranger of her class level".
Anyway, sorry to bump a dead thread.
