I'm enjoying it. I'm playing on the Dawnguard side and then will switch to become a vampire lord.
My level 42 nord Assassin/Necromage is having a blast hunting down vampires with Serana. The only glitchs i have encountered so far are some slow loading times/occasioanal freezing and Serana will say "what do you need" over and over again when you have stopped in a room after a battle regardless of whether or not you are talking to her. Still my favorite folower so far.
I'm about 1/2 way through so i have to be careful about spoilers but if like me you are still completing the main game taking her around to new places she will do interesting things. i discovered a new one at high hrothgar(spelling) last night.

i think its worth it but i might be biased.
Things that i like without getting into big spoilers
1. new companion. For the most part shes an upgrade over all other companions in skyrim. She doesnt just stand around and her story is interesting. I'm hoping shes the pathway into better companions (hopefully Dragonage quality companions)
2. The vampire lord is also new. I've only use it sparingly but flight is great and teleportation is handy. i no longer get attacked in towns as a vampire (not in lord form) and i havent had to feed yet. I'm hoping this is also something that can be added later in the game (mages/items with flight) and teleportation would be great.
3. New mount-great idea and i wont spoil more than that
4. New weapons/summoned creatures/new follower. The Dawnguard get a new follower which doesnt replace your old folower. It is now possible to have a party of 4 or more. My nord necromage has Serana, new follower, a powerful dog from original game, and a thrall that never leaves. it may be possible to have up to 6 in a group at all times. New crossbow can be upgraded through quests and is a powerul cannon and has its uses. The vampire has allies.
5. New monsters. I havent seen all the new monsters yet but the vampire related ones are fun and one is old school d&d.
6.Changing your appearance. I love this new feature. I take pride in how my character looks and if want to change/update him i now can.
7. New puzzles and boss battle. Hopefully signs of things to come.
8. New places to explore. New environments.
I cant wait until second DLC. Hopefully we get some more of the stuff hinted at the game jam.

I just started this DLC last night and I'm loving it so far. I just got Serana and the new shout that comes at that dungeon's end and I'm eager to see where things go. I'm still a werewolf from when I did the Companions questline, but I don't yet see a skill tree to get better at it; maybe that comes later. I'm an archer, so I'm loving my crossbow, but I wish I could craft ones of different materials or at least better bolts. I am also liking the new crafting options, like the dragonbone weapons and the ability to finally fletch my own arrows (can you tell I play an archer?)

If it's anything like the vampire lord skill tree, you can only actually see it when you are in Werewolf form. It won't be mixed in with all of the other skills.

I just begun it (had to craft again all my weapons made of dragonbones).
I'm still using the same char i played the original game with ;female bosmer archer/assassin/rogue/sword & board fighter, only she is 61 now.
Too high ?
edit: where is the guy who changes your face? I only know he is in Riften but he won't appear on map.

I'm playing on Dawnguard's side and doing one of the quests Gunmar gives you once you recruit him.
He told me to serch for info about the location of a vampire, then go kill him once i find him.
I found the location but every time i'm closing to that dungeon the game crashes to the desktop.
Have anyone else got this glitch? How to solve it?

Necromancer |

I grabbed the add-on a day after its PC release, but didn't get around to even launching Skyrim until the weekend. Then I decided it would be a good idea to nuke my saves (except the intro) to ensure a bug-free experience. I started several new characters that I'd been itching to try out, but got distracted with a funeral and relatives.
Now that I'm finally getting back into it all, I'm pissed that I killed all my saves... I will say that the bone hawk necklaces look f&~*ing awesome and the ability to craft your own ammo (without bug-loaded mods) is a great way to raise smithing without "wasting" components.
