Dwarf Musket Master Gunslinger - Lv8 or 9
Version 1 - Focus on Musket
Feats: Rapid Reload (Musket)[b], Point Blank Shot[1], Precise Shot[3], Rapid Shot[4], Deadly Aim[5], Steel Soul[7], Improved Critical (Musket)[8], Secret Stash Deed(?)[9]
Version 2 - Focus on Blunderbuss (with a built in backup at range)
Feats: Rapid Reload (Musket)[b], Rapid Reload (BB)[1], Dodge[3], Mobility[4], Deft Shootist[5], Point-Blank Shot[7], Rapid Shot[8], Precise Shot[9]
I'm leaning towards version 2, because it gives a nice flexibility of use; both close range and far range capability. There's also an archer in the party and I feel like I could make him feel less unique in role if I just stand back and shoot things.
Is there some mix of feats I'm missing in version 2? I think Version 1 covers everything important.
One thing I really like about the scatter weapons is that they don't care about concealment miss chance. This means I can wear smoked goggles and still reliably fire a ranged weapon, which is completely badass. There's also the use of the various alchemical rounds, such as the entangling rounds or the flare, potentially making for some debuff ability.
Also, for you experienced Gunslingers out there, what magic abilities do you recommend for your guns? Distance for a musket and damage increasing (like flaming or bane) for a scatter weapon?
For anyone suggesting I use a Dragon Pistol, be forewarned my DM has ruled it as exactly a mini version of the blunderbuss, meaning it has a x2 critical multiplier and a 10' range increment with a 15' scatter cone on a smaller damage die. He assumes the chart is misprinted.
Any other concept ideas I'm missing?
