So I just got the RotR Hardcover and so far I love it but I noticed a pretty confusing date error for those who are new to the series.
As most veterans of RotR know, the campaign starts on Rova 24th, 4707 AR. The Late Unpleasantness occurred five years ago (or 4702 AR). In the hardcover, this is confirmed in the Late Unpleasantness section of the Sandpoint section. However, in Chapter 1 (part 2) under the section 'The Missing Barmaid,' the book says Ameiko leaves to go adventuring in 4705 AR and returns a year later for her mother's funeral, but the mother died during the Late Unpleasantness. So unless Longjiku pulled the best 'Weekend at Bernie's' reenactment Golarion has ever seen, the mother would have died three years prior and the funeral would be held then.
Not trying to bust balls or anything, but even I was confused on reading those sections.

I'm laughing out loud -- I was just writing up this section of my campaign and ran into the same thing -- my whole group noticed that the mother's death was 3 years *after* the Late Unpleasantness. I tried to play it off as a very, very late funeral, but eventually had to retcon it back to 4702, meaning Ameiko ran off in 4701.
I think the hardcover may have been adjusted to take place in 4711. There's also the little gem where Ameiko was born in 4688, met Tsuto when she was 10 (4698), and then if you use the 4701 date, ran off to go adventuring at 13. Not totally unheard of, but still a few years too young to match her picture.
But yeah, I had to adjust that date. You're not the only one.

I'll concur that the hardcover dates were adjusted so that it took place in 4711... which made things difficult for those of us who started running the original version, then switched when the Anniversary Edition came out!
I also seem to recall that some dates were changed, while others weren't...
I ended up just going back to the original version whenever dates became important.

Let's not forget that I'm pretty sure that Ameiko's birth year is given in Jade Regent as 4689, and according to Runelords she's owned the Rusty Dragon for 6 years as of 4707, which makes her 18 as of the start of Runelords, meaning she was 12 when she returned from adventuring for her mother's funeral, and 11 when she set out on that expedition.
Dates are not Paizo's strong point.
