Hi Paizo
I know you've been somewhat besieged in the last couple of days regarding shipping clarifications and so forth, so I realise this is likely to be way down the list of 'things to do'. Nonetheless, I posted something about this in the comics subscription thread and thought I'd put a separate thread here (not sure if it's the right place, but it seems to involve coding, so here it goes for now)...
As the number of licensed subscriptions increases, I would greatly appreciate the facility to vary the shipping options a little more than is allowed by the two options we have available currently*. In my ideal world, each subscription would have it's own shipping preference (ship with my Paizo stuff, ship as soon as possible, etcetera) and the ability to select differing default shipping methods.
So for example, I'd like to get my PF Battles as soon as possible and as fast as possible, but would be happy to defer my comics until next month's Paizo shipment or to send them as soon as they arrive at your warehouse but with a cheaper and slower shipping method.
This kind of customisation is no doubt unnecessary for the vast bulk of your customers, so I wouldnt prioritise it particularly highly. Nonetheless, I thought I'd pass it on, since it would be of great value to me and I could see it gaining broader appeal if more non-Paizo, licensee subscriptions become available in the future.
Cheers
Steve

* Having said that, I think the tweaking of the "ship my products monthly" option so that Paizo subs are never delayed is an excellent adjustment.

We've had more complex subscription options in the past and it turns out that we have a community of gamers who want to tweak and min/max their shipping. Except the rules of the game are super complex and not easily explained* and just led to lots of customer confusion. Which leads to more customer service issues and they're kind of swamped these days even with the simplified options we currently have.
We're always looking at ways to improve the processes we have in place so you never know. Like you said, we do seem to be adding new subscription lines more often than I think anybody ever really anticipated, so if we can figure out a way to make it more flexible without adding confusion, we'll probably do it.
*which, yes, also applies to our product lines in general
