So I really want to make a Naga Aspirant for PFS, but...

Advice

Liberty's Edge

I have no idea how to build him.
The nagaji base strength encourages me to go high strength, as also the later lvls encourage a bit of charisma. I also need some dex so i can hit with all my new fancy ranged touch spells. Con is always important. This is what I have right now

str 14
dex 14
con 12
int 08
wis 15
cha 14

This is the only way to dip into everything you can do, but as you might notice nothings all that great
When you get naga form that strength assuming a belt can be 20 with a bite at 1 1/2 strength. Obviously at around 4 that wisdom will hit 18 with a headband.

6 when i finally get naga form
str 16
dex 14
con 12
int 08
wis 18
cha 14
probable spells-
magic missle
ray of enfeeblement
Acid Arrow
Invisibility
lightning bolt
suggestion
So do you guys and gals think this could work or am I way to spread thin?

or should i just stick with my Dwarvin druid right now and Make my nagaji a rage prophet, which honestly fits there stats too well.

dwarvin druid---
str 17
dex 10
con 16
wis 14
int 10

Well, what are you really looking for in your Nagaji character? I see that you want to make him a Sorcerer or Wizard. But, what do you REALLY want, do you want him to be a casting blasting mage, or do you want an enviroment changing Mage, or perhaps even a Conjuration Mage. All of which are good, you just need to know how to build him. Judging by your list of spells you want to be a Evoker/Enchanter. So, try a Sorcerer (meaning place your best stat in Charisma or else it won't make it) and if you are trying to do the Evoker thing/Enchanter you might want to pick up the Magical Knack Trait in case you decide to Multiclass into something.

Next, you need to think of your group, what they are like (as per power level) are they steam-rolling the monsters or are they having trouble. Because it will help you pick the area that you want so that way you are not going through the monsters and they are falling behind or vice versa. What I would suggest for the Nagaji Sorcerer(ess) is the stats as follows (I can do the math to where I know what stat you have):

STR 10
DEX 14
CON 14
INT 12
WIS 14
CHA 17

This should work out better for you in the end, because if you want to hit w/ rays and such you need a decent Dexterity and the DCs need to be okay as well. Currently, you are sitting on a (I would think 1st level) DC 13 - 14.

That is my suggestion. Hope this has helped :D

@Mr_Nevada: I'm so incredibly confused by your post. The OP wants to be a druid, not a sorcerer or wizard.

As for building a Naga Aspirant, I say go for it! The class looks super fun and takes a unique approach to the druid. It's definitely a character that will have your party-mates saying "but... you're a druid, right?"

First things first: Naga form is crap if you're looking to melee. It's fairly decent if you're interested in the flavor, and the bonus abilities you get later on can be really neat- but a warrior it is not. Naga form is really useful for a caster though since you can still talk to your allies despite being in wild shape.

This leaves you two options. A) Build a caster who falls back on wild shape when there's no casting to be done, or B) Build a wild shaping druid who falls back on Naga form for specific utility. Both are perfectly fine, but you should definitely pick one or the other. Pathfinder encourages specialization and you're more likely to enjoy the character if you can really kick ass in a specific category.

Me? I love the idea of a caster who occasionally joins leaps into the fray to whoop up on your enemies when you don't feel like casting is worth it anymore. Early on you spend your time in whatever form suits you (I'd prefer Naga for the ability to speak, but whatever) and then later in your career you can use your Naga form's special abilities as a backup for spellcasting. In a 15 pt buy game I'd go with the following, after racial modifiers:

Str 14, Dex 12, Con 14, Int 10, Wis 15, Cha 10

Focus on Wisdom your whole way up. The Naga Aspirant doesn't offer many reasons to actually focus on charisma, despite appearing so. Charming gaze isn't a great choice when you remember that you can just add Charm Person to your spell list, and Detect Thoughts doesn't warrant a focus on charisma just for that. Instead I'd choose utility abilites (darkvision, swim, tough scales) or those abilities that rely on your constitution score. When you finally get access to these naga abilities you'll have a "natural" constitution score of 18. At 13 you can pick up Sting and Poisonous Sting, giving you a pair of natural attacks and a poison (Fort DC 10 + 1/2 druid + CON) that puts your enemies to sleep for a LONG time.

Anyways, just a few thoughts. It's 3am and I'm getting rambly so I'm gonna stop. Good luck!

You can also take the poisonous bite and spit venom abilities. Thus when you're tired of casting spells you can be a venom cannon.

I assume you have a boon allowing the Nagaji race? And you've checked that all material you plan to use is on the Additional Resources page?

Liberty's Edge

Yeah I gmed at ogc nashua. I think I might run a dwarf druid for now. I may want to give this character or potentially the two other races some thought.

Thanks for all the fantastic advice.
