Question about the Product Review Features

Hi, all. One quick question.

I notice that nothing is stopping me from clicking "write a review" for PDF-only products (which many third-party products are). I don't want to write a phony review just to test it, but is it possible to write a review for a PDF product that you haven't purchased?

Yep, I believe so.

You could always have purchased a PDF at another site and want to review it here, just like you could have purchased a print product from Amazon or your FLGS and want to review it for the community. I don't believe they check up on you. There have been a couple of instances of people posting "reviews" of products before their release, and those were taken out of the average-stars equation, iirc.

We don't do much policing of product reviews. We have removed a few that weren't actually reviews, but other than that we trust that you've obtained the product legally and are reviewing it in good faith.

I have received a few free PDFs from the authors and made sure that I reviewed them. I think it's a good thing to not have to show proof of purchase to review something.

Ok. Thanks for the info, all.
