Punishing kick is actually rather useful at low levels.

Advice

Someone might have pointed this out before, (its simple enough, so I figure someone might have), but at low levels, you can punishing kick an enemy, then shift five feet away (free 5 foot adjustment) to force them to come and get you (sparing you their full attack).

Coupled with crane style, crane wing and reasonable tenacious foes, you can deny them a full attack and parry their single attack that they try to hit you with.

Granted, enemies with range weapons/reach weapons e.t.c. will not be dealt with so easily, but is an amusing keep away trick, and not save dependent like knocking them prone.

Hmmm looking at the feat you need a base attack of +8 so at what level are you thinking this is goign to be useful? I see that the hungry ghost monks get it at level 1 but I'm not seeing it as super useful.

Ah, right yes, you have to be a soul sucking vampire monk to fully leaverage the feat, true enough. It helps if you are a Master of Many Styles as well, and by chance, both archetypes can be taken at once.

If your wisdom isn't super high, it might be more advantageous to take punishing kick as a hungry ghost monk rather than stunning fist as a vanilla monk for the repositioning shennanigans.
