If going Barbarian, the Fly-by-Attack combined with Pounce is brutal.

I don't see how.

Flyby Attack lets you take your Standard Action anytime during your Move action.

Pounce is a special version of Charge, which requires a Full-round action.

You might be confusing it with Ride-by attack which would allow this. Obviously doesn't work unless you have a mount.

Fly is a 3rd level spell, so after 5th level you'll see fighters increasingly often have access to it and they actually are better at it than you (Good vs Average maneuverability).

The tradeoff of course is using a limited resource (a short duration fly spell) as opposed to having it at will. Besides since Fly would be a class skill for Strix, some skill point investment would make them just as good as maneuverability ratings in Pathfinder mean nothing more than static modifiers given to the skill.

I've worked with 2 different builds for a Strix:

1: Qinggong Master of Many Styles Monk, using primarily Panther/Snake styles... Basically he would fly right over peoples heads, provoke AoO's (which would in turn give him them first via panther style, plus if they missed wth theirs he would get another from snake style, which happened often with his very high AC) and then burn people from above with Dragon's Breath. High Wisdom + Qinggong monk with Dragon's Breath Ki Power + Ring of Ki mastery so it onyl costs 1 point to use = good times.

2: Beast Totem Brutal Pugilist Barbarian... Pouncing with multiple natural attacks from above with Death from Above + Power Attack, was fun, plus he was evry very good at grappling (i.e. grab someone, move upwards a whole bunch... go ahead buddy, try to break the grapple)

Neither build particularly optimized, but both fairly solid and both very very fun.

Well limited resources true, but that doesn't matter so much on NPCs.

I was refering - or at least tried to - that the Strix PC's fly ability loses a lot of its value once the NPCs get the ability to fly as well.

This also means that Samurai, and Ninja, can take Rogue and Cavalier archetypes, but of course, the same rules for archetypes apply.

Note that only Ninjas can enter any current archetypes not exclusive to them.

Samurai might be able to enter some future archetype (provided it only changes mount, banner, challenge, order abilities and or bonus feats).

Anti-Paladin doesn't have a single class feature in common, so it's not even possible in theory unless Paizo releases a Paladin archetype that only swaps proficiencies and skills/skill points.
