It says that it adds a +1 enhancement bonus for up to +6
And then it says that it can stack with others for a maximum of +5
So if it is a +5 lance, would that only be a +5 lance and the enhancement bonus would be needed to be put into adding an effect, or does it become +10 and you have one to put into a bonus?

All such abilities are subject to the standard limitations for enhancing weapons.
So that means the + value to hit and damage has a ceiling of 5.
So yes if your lance is a +5 lance, you use the bond to add quantitities.
IF it's a +5 lance with qualities that make it a +10 lance total, your divine bond can't be used on it at all.
