so a mutagen takes 1 hour to brew, lasts 10 minutes per level, and once you drink it, you can brew another one in an hour after all the fighting dies down, so you could drink and brew several in a day and have a mutagen in each encounter if the party doesn't mind the wait in a dungeon?

Yes. I have had alchemists make multiple mutagens in a day (usually no more than 2, I think maybe once someone has made 3 in a day.)

Correct, you can make multiple mutagens in a day, you just can't carry around more than 1 at a time. Unless you have the infuse mutagen discovery and pay the fee to use it.

Or you could use those another alchemist made.
For example you could take the leadership feat and get an alchemist cohort who doesn't use his own mutagens.

If you want to combine both methods make that cohort something really small, a fey for example, and make him a lab in one of your saddlebags. There the little helper can brew more mutagens after every fight in which you used up the last one.

I can't think of any GM who would allow that but RAW it should be possible

I've asked my party in PFS if they wouldn't mind waiting for me to 'recharge'. If no one objects, and you can find a safe room, why not?
