Monk ki pool abilities and "Fist" apply with a cestus

Rules Questions

So a monk is proficient in a cestus and per the armory update they do damage equal to your unarmed attack. My question is if a monks magic, lawful and adamantine ki abilities would apply thru a cestus. Also what about stunning fist and elemental fist?

IIRC not off the bat, but I think you can get a magic enhancement to do what you are describeing.

EDIT: Haveing read through the rules i know am more confused on how the cestus is supposed to work

Dark Archive

Cestus is a light melee weapon that does 1d4 damage, not = to your unarmed damage.

from the PRD:

Quote:
Cestus: The cestus is a glove of leather or thick cloth that covers the wielder from mid-finger to mid-forearm. The close combat weapon is reinforced with metal plates over the fingers and often lined with wicked spikes along the backs of the hands and wrists. While wearing a cestus, you are considered armed and your unarmed attacks deal normal damage. If you are proficient with a cestus, your unarmed strikes may deal bludgeoning or piercing damage. Monks are proficient with the cestus. When using a cestus, your fingers are mostly exposed, allowing you to wield or carry items in that hand, but the constriction of the weapon at your knuckles gives you a –2 penalty on all precision-based tasks involving that hand (such as opening locks).

the normal damage means that you do not do non-lethal damage, like normal unarmed strikes without the improved unarmed attack feat.

Is there another location for the item that states different? If so, we should FAQ it to get them merged and straightened out.

According to the D20pfsrd cestus page it was updated in Advanced Armory but it does not reference the page of the book. But it doesn't answer the ki pool or Fist ability questions.

The answer is "No" but can be done with a +1 Ki Focus cestus.

it was updated in the advanced armory then again updated in the advanced players guide, and will be again updated in the ultimate equipment book. Now it works as a light weapon, period. No unarmed abilities function through it.
