Adventure Path Bundles

Pathfinder Adventure Path General Discussion

Paizo is currently selling an adventure path bundle of Serpent's Skull, but not of any of the other adventure paths; I have bought it. Does anyone know if they will be establishing this type of bundle for other adventure paths?

PS. I am aware of the Rise of the Runelords special edition coming out. This is not what I mean; It's just the adventure, not all the AP material - eg the articles about individual Golarion dietes, etc...

The bundle is part of a special sale, and won't be available long.

I ordered mine. I take it this means that such a bundling is not expected to be repeated for later adventure paths (eg Carrion Crown).

If I remember correctly, there are 2 issues of Carrion Crown that have a low number of copies (the ones that are not on sale) and therefore they do not have enough left for a bundle

There also may be something later on during the year. During Last year's holiday sale, I bought the Second Darkness bundle which had all the APs, plus the poster maps and the item cards.

Difficult to say.

Prior to the 10th Anniversary Sale - which is obviously a one-off event, the only other times I can recall an AP bundle being offered is on Black Friday in November.

Even then, the nature of the deals offered on AP bundles are priced so that the overall product offering, be it 6 volumes of an AP, or 6 volumes plus map folio and card deck, are priced so that they are still a little more expensive than if you had subscribed to the AP product line when it first came out -- after the subscriber discount is factored in to the Overall sale price. The AP subscriptions rule the roost at Paizo and Paizo understandably is very hesitant to do anything which would mess with that subscriber base or offer any sort of disincentive to not subscribe or to unsubscribe. This is the main reason that the RotRL Anniversary Edition was not added automatically to subscribers of the AP. The risk was not worth the reward with that approach (which was taken with the Beginner Box, if you recall). Instead, subscribers had to add it specifically to their subscription in order to receive it.

The sole exception to this past pricing practice are the deals offered for Second Darkness and Legacy of Fire APs as part of this 10th Anniversary Sale. I infer that the deal currently being offered is so damned good as:
1) it is truly a one-off special event;
2) the APs in question are in relative large supply at Paizo;
3) the APs in question are currently in relative short supply on retail shelves and very few re-orders from distributors are received for them annually;
4) the APs in question are 3.5 version APs; and
5) there Idea that there might be an anniversary edition of those particular APs is exceedingly remote at this stage.

We probably will see a bundled AP or three again on a Black Friday event. But I would not bet on seeing PFRPG APs or PFRPG modules at a fire sale price during the currency of this edition of Pathfinder RPG.

We probably will...

Yes, subscribing is the best option in terms of price - they want to encourage this. However, this does not give me the ability to time travel and subscribe retroactively, does it...
