I agree that springing into action rocks, and I don't mind trying to lure him over.

Personally I'm tempted to just fire the cannon and hope we're in range (makes sense if we can hear each other yelling); but who knows?

The biggest problem I have with my own plan to simply fire the cannon is that it will force both ships to fight (not necessarily the end of the world as I'm pretty sure we can beat this guy); HOWEVER - the biggest problem ship-to-ship fighting will have for us that I can see is that we might loose too many of our NPC sailors. If we do that, where will we find reliable back-up (and this doesn't count the status of our ship after the fight).

So for now I'll do whatever I can to aid with a Bluff to get the guy over here - but any follow-up recommendations or suggestions would be great.

Also, regarding your question about the Message Spell - knowing the range of our target would ALSO be great - just saying ;)

Well, if the GM's sick then I understand. But are you sure Adular is still interested in playing?

As an aside, I kind of assumed that if PC's aren't posting at least once in a 24 Hour period when we're in a Combat Round that someone would NPC them in their absence, at least for a day, but I'm not sure. Is that an option at this point?

I don't mean to pressure anyone, but the thing is; I just really like the campaign and I'm excited to play.

That said, I guess we'll just have to see what happens next :)

Immortal: Regarding the Tiny Hut, Milksop created it and now he's 60ft in the air (hiding in the sails of our ship).

This is what it says as part of the spell: However, if you [the caster] remove yourself from the hut, the spell ends.

So is the tiny hut no more now based on that? Or is Milksop NOT the caster?

Adular, only two have taken any damage so far: Ana with 15 damage plus salty water burns and Horatio with 17 damage.

That Silence Spell may come in useful with Milksop at some point. ;)

Question for GM: So as I understand it looks like the bulk of the group is on deck waiting for the enemy boss to show up. If he shows up, they’ll attack him and in the meantime they’re just kind of waiting around for him to show up.

That might happen on the next round, or might happen two or three rounds from now. If this boss isn’t going to show up for another two or three rounds I wouldn’t mind just hashing out the issue in the hold as a separate matter as (unfortunately) I was unable to get out of my neighborhood because it hadn’t been plowed and I’m pretty much stuck at home ready to continue.

So if you’re up for it, while the group on the main deck is waiting for this boss to reappear I’m perfectly willing to do a little dance in the hull below.

Just let me know if you’re okay with that and until then; I’ll be right here :)

I mean; we are dealing with a caster who is either invisible and hanging around (or maybe teleporting or dimensional door or something; I don’t know). So he might pop out somewhere above deck any time.

As for me; I’m ready to fight and post!

To be clear; I’m not trying to tell you what to do, but I kind of went off on my own because I don’t like waiting days at a time while the GM is forced to "Hold Action" until everyone eventually gets around to making a post.

Anyhow, I figured I'd head below decks and do something when it doesn't involve a lot of people who don't really have the time to make posts more than a few times a week.

Like, maybe we could just take care of things below deck ourselves? Given your Fly speed and movement I’d wager you could be below decks on the next round AND take a Standard Action (unless Flying is a Standard Action?) and by next round we could be cleaning out these scum and (hopefully) get them finished off in the next 3-4 rounds by tomorrow afternoon at the latest!

Time for "retraining"

Horatio is considered "Re-training" a class feature - this is something we're allowed to do but it will take nearly almost 10 days "In-Game" to do it.

If people are cool with him retraining at some point and taking a few days of "Shore Leave" to get it done he'd be obliged.

Maybe after we find the sunken ship and get plenty of loot that can be converted into crafting supplies that might be forged into useful gear - while some folk craft that could be a useful time to consider retraining?

Anyhow, please let me know what you all think.

Meanwhile, retraining might be useful for anyone.

It allows us to readjust skill points, stat points, and a host of other abilities. Anyhow, just something to think about...

No kidding, right?

Since we've met the pirate king and got our letter of marquee it's been less than a week "in-game" but in real life that happened sometime last year.

To be honest, I don't want to compromise the pace of the game in any way.

The GM suggested to me that we'd eventually have time for us to do things like that via some kind of journey/voyage - on the other hand, that was sometime last year, so I don't know if he even remembers that; or if that quest/possibility is still even an option given what we've been doing.

Sorry, my browser is having a bit of trouble with the map, but if I'm reading this right, currently Adular must go through the cloudkill if he wants to get able to see anyone but Ana, is that right?

Yes. At the moment Adular and Ana are inside the Darkness spell (Ana can see through it as she has darkvision, but not Adular as he only has low-light vision) and you're both protected by Ana's magic which is holding the poisonous cloud at bay and not allowing it to spread toward you (it spreads each round).

If Adular wants to see anything, he'll need to move past the hellhound at R:17. But you'll be moving through darkness at first, so Acrobatics (DC 10) can help so you can move more than half your speed through the darkness.

But if you go into the cloud, you will need to make a successful Fortitude save (DC 20) for half damage, or cop the entire 3 CON damage.

I think the gist of the fortitude save was that anyone trying to move away from the centre of the ship (where the funnel of very strong wind is) needs to make a save and succeed or be pulled closer to the centre of the ship/wind funnel.

Outstanding! In which case I'm gambling that the Mouther will remain near his boss for a while instead of following me - this means I can head below, see what's down there in the meantime, then head up next round without enduring the massive amount of attacks (hopefully).

I can give better coordinates on my exact position once the third level is revealed.

Bringing the conversation here but do we want to change titles for those on the Dryad? I ask as technically she needs a whole set of officers if we plan on keeping her. This would mean that someone could be promoted to being captain and it does not have to be Dhaavan. Just throwing this thought out there and what you all want to do with it. Likewise if Jiro wants a promotion to first mate on the Lady that spot would be open if Dhaavan is going to be an officer on the Dryad.

Well for what it's worth I really don't really think "titles" matter much, except maybe to NPC's.

But as for keeping the ship, I think that will depend details regarding her stats. Until we know more, it's kind of hard to know what to do with her.

Well, even if we don't keep her, she's worth salvaging and selling, which means we have to get her back to where she can be sold...so we'll need at least a minimal crew and some officers temporarily if nothing else.

I personally don't feel new titles need to be given at this point in game. NPCs who get promoted - sure - if it aids in morale etc. :)

As for the Dryad's Grave - I'm open to either option (keeping or selling). Although, having a spare ship sounds kind of nice and smart re sea fights.

It matter not to me either way but thought if someone wanted a new position or change things up then this would be a great time to do it. By the end of the campaign we might possess 6 ships and all of us could be our own captains. If people don't want to go with this I am great with it as it would make more paperwork for me. It would also prevent any headaches for remembering what positions people hold on different ships.

For now though I will leave the Lady and Dryad alone for officers but indicate on the Dryad who has what position for skill check reasons such as piloting checks. Amen-set's sailing is a +14 correct?

Loot list is updated but not divided out. Scrolls and potions are available to be claimed just let me know so I can take it off the list as appropriate. Remember consumables are not held against you.
